Ah ok. Must've misread. Cheers chaps.
When I ordered mine I came to the same incorrect assumptions you. For some reason it seems to imply paddle shift for that flat bottomed steering wheel but doesn't seem to mention it for the standard steering wheel.I can confirm I have the standard steering wheel and it does have the paddles.
I'm not sure what I've done but I have somehow managed to lose the Google Maps functionality and the display has returned to the standard map view. I never set up an Audi Connect account as the car was delivered with everything seemingly working. I actually find the new MMI system to be less intuitive than previous versions and, I know I'm getting older, but can anyone advise before I hit the manual? Thanks.
Also just over 1,750 miles in 6 weeks and here's my MPG to date;

Mine has done this to me a few times ( 3 to be exact) in the last week. I found out by a bit of trial and error has caused it to do this ( at least in my case). I spend quite a bit of my time across country and I know my signal strength and my phone is really bad. What happened for my car is that the in car SIM card has lost its data signal, it then can't load the Google maps view and wanted done this for a little while it reverts itself back to the standard system. If you then switch the car off whilst it does this, it then stays on the standard map without trying to read again the data and switch back to Google maps.Also just over 1,750 miles in 6 weeks and here's my MPG to date;

The manual solution is to use the navigation on the main screen ( not the VC version), I can't remember if you have to click the left button right button immediately beside the control wheel, but one of them brings up the option that says navigation map options. If you click across to that one you then get the choice of standard maps or google maps. As long as you are in a data signal for the inbuilt Sim card and then load the maps.
If you look in the bottom right corner of the screen where the word Google is written, it shows a small loading bar the first time you start the car - if it can't find signal then the word Google becomes grey and faded. Once it has its data stays white.
Hope that makes sense?

You sir are a gentleman and a scholar. Worked exactly as you described (right button) and saved me a lot a time. It also makes sense as it was only after I arrived in Devon that it went awry and is also where I don't get a mobile phone signal at all. If I was less charitable I'd think Audi's description of the flat-bottomed wheel was intentionally misleading, to get folk to order one. Launch control and paddles are standard on all DSG/Auto S4/S5s. Flat-bottomed wheel is purely "because racecar" and has zero functional value.I can confirm I have the standard steering wheel and it does have the paddles.
I just had mine delivered a few days ago from Crewe Audi.
Navarra Blue with Rotor Grey interior.
For anyone placing new orders, I would really recommend the Hill Hold Assist (unlike my BMW, the S5 remembers this setting, so no need to keep turning it on every time). But this really should have been standard equipment.
Other cheap options would be to get the flat bottom steering, and virtual cockpit.
I also got the front sweeping indicators(light and vision pack), B&O speakers, reverse camera, privacy glass.

One could argue it makes getting in a out slightly easier but I aren't sure that's the case myselfRa.bristol said:

Have they sorted the integration with Auto box and Stop/Start? On B8's the engine would restart as soon as you release pressure on the brake pedal, so if you want stop/start to be useful, then HHA isn't!
Re flat bottomed wheels and legroom/ease of exit, I don't think it would make any useful difference. It's not like you have a confined cabin like this.

I think we all choose the flat bottom steering wheel just because it looks cool. Unless you are grossly overweight with legs like tree trunks, it serves no other purpose.On B8's the engine would restart as soon as you release pressure on the brake pedal, so if you want stop/start to be useful, then HHA isn't!

Cherished plate question.
I've got my plate on retention and want to put it on the S5, and was told or read that you have to add VWFS as a nominee which means filling in section and signing section 6 on the retention document and sending this off to DVLA and once they've added the new nominee then send it off to Audi Finance for them to sort it out with DVLA. Now I've just gone on to Audi Finance website and it doesn't mention about adding them as a nominee and just email them the retention certificate as is and simply add the current plate in section 1. What have others had to do? See below.
Assigning your Cherished Plate
Before we can complete the assigning of your cherished plate to a Contract Hire vehicle the following have to be in place:-
As we are the registered keeper and owner of the vehicle we will process all paperwork and liaise with the DVLA on your behalf and you will be liable for all associated DVLA charges of assignment. The vehicle will always remain registered to us whilst you hire the vehicle.
Your cherished plate will need to be removed from our vehicle at least two months prior to the contract end date. It is important that this time scale is adhered to so that we can dispose of the vehicle without your cherished plate at contract end*.
Please see the documents below for guidance on filling out the forms

Fill out section 1, then email a scanned copy of the retention document to VWFS together with a reference to your contract agreement, or post a copy and covering letter if you cannot scan it.I've got my plate on retention and want to put it on the S5, and was told or read that you have to add VWFS as a nominee which means filling in section and signing section 6 on the retention document and sending this off to DVLA and once they've added the new nominee then send it off to Audi Finance for them to sort it out with DVLA. Thanks for that, is this what you've done? Will take much less time if you don't have to send the ret doc off to DVLA and wait for it to come back before sending it to Audi.I've just emailed the dealer too in case its something they can do without incurring the extra cost, doubtful but worth a try.Gassing Station | Audi, Seat, Skoda & VW | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
