Crewe to Penzance is ~£20 in excess mileage.
I'd still sleep well at night if I ended up absorbing that cost myself. smile
I'm not overly fussed, I still can't believe this ends up being about £1.8k a year for 8k MPA... Only reason I'd collect is so I have it for the weekend.

Tried adaptive cruise control a few times now. It's excellent. Really makes driving so much more relaxing.
It doesn't automatically pull away in stop start traffic though. Time to read the manual perhaps.

OT but for some reason the Royal Mail have sent my driving licence to CV1 instead of CW1, likely my handwriting. I could be waiting a few more days for the car frown No idea what happens now, hopefully as the rest of the address was correct it'll find it's way there.

I'm a moron.

Does DSG creep? Or is it an option you can turn on? I thought it did - I've never had a DSG car before, other than a couple of test drives years ago.

It does, but if you have auto hold active and come to a complete stop that'll, er, hold you.

I live quite near Crewe - I could pick it for you and drive it around for a couple of years if you like? I'll even send you £150/mth. smile

Our Tiquan creeps quite fast - it seems even faster in reverse. We don't use auto-hold either - I think it feels a bit weird starting off as you sort of have to over-come the hold and it starts with a bit of a thunk. Better to hold the car on the foot-brake, then release it and get on the gas as it starts rolling.

I think the brake-lights will stay on with auto-hold on Passat but they don't on our Tiguan - which is another reason why I don't like it on Tiguan.

At this moment there's nothing more for them to add.
Once the car is in the dealer they'll be in touch, for you to sign the finance agreement and then arrange delivery.

I read the first part of that thinking you were offering to collect it from the delivery office haha. Thankfully my licence is on the way this morning so I'll have to decline.

Probably paranoia that it's all going to go pear shaped. Also it's Friday 13th. spin

TJK - had an email from them asking me to sign finance forms etc ( mines gone down £1.50 since initial quote = £69.74 p/m!!) and they say the car should be with me within 21/28 days.

Try pressing the RES button on the wheel. On the golf it restarts the adaptive cruise in traffic.

On JLR products you just need to tap the accelerator and it sets off again.

Can do either in VW, tap the accelerator or press the Resume button smile

I find it works fantastic in stop start motorway traffic.

Thanks.
I had the accelerator pedal working ok, but good to know of the RES button feature works from standstill.

I certainly hope the car materialises now, I've just sold my V70 and am resorting to using the M5 until the battleship arrives...

Mine is now at the dealer (Benfield Newcastle) and I have returned all the forms today. Pretty much spot on timing based on the original estimate from the VW system. Go Germanic efficiency biggrin

Hopefully they'll turn it around quickly and I'll have it next week which will get me out of the stand-in Mokka (or Crokka st)!

I called in Swansway Group Fleet (VW Crewe) on my way dawn sawf yesterday morning to drop off my docs and show my driving licence. They are based in a huge warehouse full of brand new cars just down the road from the VW dealership. There were plenty of grey Alltracks waiting for their new owners.

I have now been given my reg number too. My car is in the UK and should be about a week.

The service I have received during the process has been great - I have been dealing with a guy called James there who could not have been more helpful.

Apparently this one broker has ordered about 70 Alltracks - make sure you remember you registration number as otherwise you may struggle to find you shiny new battleship in a carpark. smile
