I've just been told the exact same thing. My dealer had originally told me there was no registration time limit on these and that it could be delivered in September. They have now just been told by VWFS that the cars have to be registered by end-of-quarter (30th June).
It's a bit of a bitach, but with a bit of luck they could be delayed (he reckons VWFS have messed this up and won't be able to fulfil these orders in this time frame...).
The other option, which I have just looked into, is to do an Early Termination of current lease contract. This costs 55% of the remaining payments pro-rata'd for mileage, in my case (lease ending late September) I'd be looking at less than £250 ETF so it still makes this deal very much worthwhile.
That would work for me as well, is it VWFS saying it's 55% of remaining payments or a 3rd part lease company??It's a bit of a bitach, but with a bit of luck they could be delayed (he reckons VWFS have messed this up and won't be able to fulfil these orders in this time frame...).

VWFS. My plan is to continue with my GTI order at the moment, see what happens in regards to build and delivery. If it's delayed, happy days. If it gets confirmed for 30th June then I will simply ET my contract which will have 2 remaining payments @55% and just under 3 months remaining. Not a huge loss given how good these deals are.jamesmcd2017 said:
Does anyone know if the fact I've now been sent the vehicle order form, which has been returned signed and the admin fee paid, then I should be guaranteed one?
I would be more inclined to get an order number from VW before you have some certainty about your car.The admin fee (I'm assuming you didn't go through a main dealer?) is simply the broker's fee to provide the service... doesn't translate to anything to do with VW.

Not through a main dealer, no. Will keep my fingers crossed and wait on the order number. Hopefully the broker had some guaranteed numbers from VW that they had to sell and i got in on time. The admin fee (I'm assuming you didn't go through a main dealer?) is simply the broker's fee to provide the service... doesn't translate to anything to do with VW.
The way I understand how it works is that there's a huge pool of build slots that all dealers have access to, for various different specs (usually standard options with different numbers for each paint colour + DSG/Manual combination). Each dealer has the ability to "tag" a certain number of these cars for their own sales. Presumably this number is based on the size of that dealership network.
A tagged slot must be confirmed by the dealer by 6pm or it is re-released into the pool for others to take. So it is definitely possible for cars to slip through the net and re-appear the next day if you're lucky. Dealers may also confirm the car, only for the finance to later fall through and therefore make the car available again in the future...

I was lucky and managed to bag a red gti with DSG around mid morning. I have now received an order number although nothing shows on the VW site. Must say that Breeze have been a pleasure to deal with so far. I was told that I had secured the last red DSG and that all white and black models had already gone.
