Well the standard 230 has the diamond quilted seats anyway. I hope it has the 18” wheels then it’ll be perfect.

Apart from the ugly facelift nose, obvs.
Each to their own, I love the new headlights!
Agreed

That’s normal my golf did it, it’s a resistance to prevent you mashing the accelerator unless you really want to

Guys a couple of questions regarding insurance...

Who do you use and did they have any problems finding the vehicle with it being a new model?
Also how much are you paying roughly if you don't mind me asking...
Finally has anyone gone for gap insurance?

Many thanks

Churchill via comparison website - £330/year. Business use, legal expenses, recovery and loan car included. Had to phone to finalise things as the reg number was too new to be recognised on the system. Agreed 8,000 miles a year with a stab at 2,000 being business use.

I’m over 50 and am getting insurance a bit cheaper than some of the younger guys who are now opting out of the company car scheme and going private.
They are getting Audi’s and BMW’s approx. £10,000 more on the road than the VRS and they are looking at £600 to £800/year. Don’t know if the insurance difference comes down to their younger age, higher cost of car, nil no claims bonus, etc.?

Got the gap insurance for around £145 for 3 years via PH. I think the other guys at work went through Money Saving Expert with the same provider but got a slightly larger discount. Did gap insurance over the phone as well due to reg not recognised.

Talked to others at work and thought gap insurance at £145 was worth it if car was written off and there was a few grand between what the insurance company pays out and what VWFS’s want.

Cheers

Mine is with AA, I got a quote of £280 10,000 miles and business use. I was with them with my Mondeo ST before I got the VRS so just transfered when I got the VRS. Cost me no extra. 9 yrs no claims. I took out GAP ins with totalloss. Cost me approx£80 for the 3yrs...bargain !! No issues with finding my car when sorting the insurance.

Mine is in the country... should be at dealer tomorrow, and for collection on Saturday!

Insurance is about £440 from co-op on comparison sites - thats with 16yrs no claims - seems a bit high

For comparison, my E93 M3 is £540 (though my Mk1 MX5 is £102 smile )

I believe it was an option. Look in the glove box, if there is one it’ll be in there.

Ooooer, assumed it would have a CD player? Oh well, not too important, connects to phone for some of my music.

Suppose I’ll have to dig out the CD’s and put more music on memory device.

1,700 miles now and I’m still loving it. Great fun. Not hitting 40mpg very often though.

Not a fan of the pretend rumble noise. Set up on individual with noise as low as it goes (2/10 is the lowest?).
