Here's the plate from my B8.5 S4 running 18's.
"Normal" load should mean 39 front, 35 rear.

That looks really nice in the grey with no chrome.

Found mine!! I assume they position the sticker so you can read it when you fall out of the car blind drunk. I'm sure these stickers used to be on the inside of the fuel flap.

Have adjusted accordingly. Thanks everyone.

Re spare keys, how does one go about purchasing a fob for coding? The indy that the car is going off to for a service can program a new fob, delete the three existing spare keys that show up as being in existence but not with me but I need to supply the fob.

Google isn't immediately helping in regards to just buying a fob and my local Audi dealer has told me they want £500 and are the only people on the planet who can save my life.

It's been a while since I had to acquire a key, but remember there being all sorts of issues trying to recycle used keys to link them to a new car - worth checking if a used one can be reprogrammed by the indy you're going to. Ebay used to be the go to place, but you need to check the internals of your existing key for part number/frequency info to make sure it's a match.

Also worth looking in the glovebox for a little loop on the left side wall of the glovebox. There may be a plastic shell stored there which holds a spare emergency plastic key - check if the emergency key is in the holder.......it shouldn't be, but won't be the first time it's been stored there! That'll be one of the 'spare' keys stored.

4 wheel alignment done today. Big improvement in the corners. It was definitely off. Geo was out on the offside. Feeling of torque steer gone under heavy acceleration. Just the service to get done next week and should be set.

Still enjoying the pleasantness of the drive. A much nicer car to potter in than the 340i. I still find myself bracing for the massive gearbox lag at junctions and the stop/start cutting in when the car is still moving. Much more resolved car.

I might well live to regret this but I've just advertised my S4. Only had it since the beginning of the year and I can't honestly say it's put a foot wrong other than a couple of niggles when I first acquired it that were sorted under warranty. It does everything well but for some reason I've never fully gelled with it. I've driven BMW's on and off for the last 20 years and I think I'm just totally tuned into the way they feel and drive. I should have probably given the Audi much longer but a manual 335i Touring popped up locally a few weeks ago and I wasn't able to resist.

So far I've advertised on carandclassic and PH. Is Autotrader worth it these days? I can't lower myself to facebook, I just couldn't face the messages that I'd have to filter through. If it doesn't sell on those platforms, I might give an auction a try. I can't stand selling cars privately so please wish me luck out there!

Tricky one,I tried first then AT - was hard to filter the serious buyers and the first to come see it where scammers and left me with a very bad experience. I ended up selling to cazoo which was very easy, tried via motorway but it didn't make the quoted price. Just try and filter out the idiots and scammers, you'll know those who have done their research and are asking the right questions.

I tend to get decent buyers through AT, more so than elsewhere. Whilst FB marketplace is terrible, there are groups which can be worth a shot.

I’m looking to sell my RS4 soon and I’m not looking forward to it!

Rear wiper on my S4 has packed up - bizarrely just after I'd unclogged and cleaned the nozzle properly. It won't park unless you jiggle it, so I think the park position sensor in the motor has died.

I though I'd take it out and check/clean it, but had a fairly massive double fail:

a: Despite liberal applications of penetrating oil, I can't get the wiper arm off the shaft. Nut unscrews, but that's it. (I now see Amazon is full of special tools for this!)

b: I can't get the inside boot trim off. Four screws removed, all the lower clips are free, but the upper ones near the glass just wont budge. I feel there's a trick somewhere that I'm missing.

I had the rear trim out of mine to fit a closer module (so that I can also close the tailgate via the key and again to fit a reversing camera) and recall it was a pig to remove, at least without risking breaking any clips.

Have you removed all the 'gates'; bulb change, triangle etc. to get at the screws within? IIRC the 2 uprights on the window surround panel hold it together and are just clipped in but require quite some force to remove whilst feeling fragile at the same time.

Always find trim removal stressful as something usually wants to break off.

My clutch is on it's very last legs. Should I go for a standard replacement or it worth looking into upgrade options (especially if I'm thinking about a remap)? Are there any other jobs that are worth doing at the same time?

I had a manual and the clutch lasted about 90k, althogh it was heavy for a while (seemed fine to me until I replaced it) but nevber slipped etc. I did the flywheel at the same time. It was £2.4k from Audi so I went with a local garage who I use for other things, was about £1200ish.

I had it about 2 years after doing the clutch and it was always fine, wasn't mapped though.

I think mine needs doing at some point, will slip on a quick change between 3rd and 4th if pushing on.

Is there anything else worth doing at the same time? I had a vague idea that maybe the chains and tensioners would be easier if the gearbox was out?

Chains are definitely worth doing if you intend to keep the car.

Has anyone experienced the brake fluid warning coming on while driving? We had it a few times a while ago back in March, and local indy topped up the fluid and a visual inspection didn't identify any leaks. Brakes were done front and rear (discs and pads) about 30k miles ago, and fluid was changed last September when last serviced and brake wear was fine (around 30% life left). It's come on again today (3 beeps, warning to stop the car and check the fluid level, but then disappears) but not repeated on the rest of the journey, or on the way back.

I'll be taking the scuttle cover off to try and see where the fluid level is against the min/max marks but just wondered if there's any known issues to look for, if there's no physical evidence of a leak anywhere? Taking the cap off the fluid level is visible, but it's quite low, so I'm thinking it's going somewhere......

How cold does the aircon get in these cars?

On its lowest setting it doesn't give me the impression that it would cope with a hot day. I'd expect the air that was coming out of the vents to be uncomfortable rather then meh.

A recharge seems sensible however just interested as to what result could be expected.
