The Cupra (Black) Lease thread
Discussion
Don't think anyone has. I think some that got cancelled orders or cars already in the production waiting list may be picking up this week. Otherwise it's still a few weeks off. I ordered in the first week of the lease offer coming online and my car was due for build this week I think.
Is anyone else getting conflicting info??
I was told built week 37 by Seat UK so w/c 12/9/16 then the dealer said it had been moved forward to week 36 w/c 5.9.16 and to expect maybe by end of September but more likely 1st week of October, tried to get hold of them for a week now to no avail so spoke to Seat CS just and they said its status 30 and still awaiting a ship in Barcelona port?
How can it wait in Barcelona for 3 weeks, seems crazy to me, I'm going to look into the dealers that have stock and just lose my £200 deposit if they can get one quicker, I need to get of my car ASAP to release some money, another potential month is too long.

Just had an update. It's a crap one unfortunately, but news nonetheless.
My expected build week has gone from Week 39 to Week 43 (24/10), so November delivery for me most likely.
Should have kept my Type R for another couple of months!
When did you order? Mine was week 39 although has not been confirmed yet (even we are in week 39!) so trying to work out if I will be in the same boat (no pun intended!)My expected build week has gone from Week 39 to Week 43 (24/10), so November delivery for me most likely.

What are the chances that for the later orders amongst us Seat might actually cancel them based on them overlapping too much with the start of the facelift production?
I was originally told end of Nov/Early Dec but with the 3-4 week delay jan seems more likely or not at all.
If that's the case, then lucky few will be given the face lift. Many people ordered a 280 and were given a 290 due to overlapping schedules. I was originally told end of Nov/Early Dec but with the 3-4 week delay jan seems more likely or not at all.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't these cars need to be delivered by end of Dec? Anything from Jan onwards means the monthly rentals may not be guaranteed?
With it being a production issue, I'd like to think that VWFS will pull a few strings here and there. I'd be thoroughly pd off if they didn't.

I picked up one of these today to demo for the weekend - very nice to see, sit and drive one in the flesh and interesting to compare it to the Golf R.
It feels like a bloody quick car, even more so due to being FWD, but also very composed and loads-up well with the diff, even if it does seem a little vague throwing it into corners. The exhaust note is good and preferable over the R.
Beyond that it seems very well spec'd as standard, as is the golf, although i think the SEAT is a little more stealth - a friend swore it was the FR rather than the Cupra 290 at first as the enhancements are pretty subtle.
Very impressed with it and looking forward to receiving mine, even if it sounds like it'll be a little while...

How did you arrange this? Were they willing to assist even though you've already ordered? Yes... when i went to sign the paperwork for my lease at the dealership i said i fancied driving one if they had one available, they didn't so they ordered a demo in, which arrived a few weeks later, and i've spent the last 24 hours trying to get it up into 4-figure mileage.Sonic said:
