It depends on your driving to whether you should be on short or long life. The dealers usually set them all to long life at PDI but it should be discussed with the customer. I have been down the rabbit hole on this topic with multiple dealers and VW to get the answer.

If your doing the motorway commutes to work longer distance driving then long life is fine.

If you do mainly short journeys, town driving and the odd a/b road drive it should be on shorter life and new oil every year

It’s not just about the amount of miles. Appalling form from VW on communication about this

Yeah its a strange one. Earliest date for the service is 28th Feb! I have the Arval service and tyre package so no issue from the cost side just seemed early. Thanks for the feedback!

Hi all, neglected this group quickly once I got the car:?-?).
One question, anyone else been stung for an additional £534 from Arval regarding the vehicle excise adjustment? Sems excessive to me, but I've tried to look into it and work it out but I'm obviously too thick. Got Arval on the case to give me the breakdown on how it's been calculated.

I have not heard anything from them - was it because you car was a little later? - or am I getting a letter/email soon

I have just logged into the portal and nothing showing in the documents about a letter

What was the outcome in the end? - see my post above? - did they take it by DD?

Think we are going to have to swallow this reading the contract. The only glimmer is the signed doc’s say P11d of 37k. They have never informed of the price increase to over 40k. Will be calling a little later.

P11d value of only 37k is categorically wrong, list price of a base GTI Clubsport has been over 40k for a few years now.

This was Jan 2022 when the order was placed my Friend. Car finally arrived in June 2023 and by that point it had gone up yes! Thanks for your input!!

Let me know how you get on - I will try and call them this afternoon - really could not do with extra money going out this month as on hols and switching bank account.

In all my times of leasing this is the first time I have had issues and its the first time I have been with Arval - first being mislead that the car would be ready in July 2022 and then not getting it until April 2023 secondly the price mess up and now this

Simon I imagine because yours was early the P11d was under 40k you were not only lucky getting your car 9 months early it seems you have got lucky again

Just called them and mentioned the email and pretty much without going into any detail they said they would put the payment on hold register a complaint and get someone to call me. - I guess they have had a lot of calls and just moving the cases on to the complaints team.
