Just spotted this deal for the Golf R estate. Not bad considering it is a DSG. Shame there is no manual option.

That doesn't seem bad at all actually, barely any more expensive than a 5dr DSG R was during the 'deals'. I expect VWFS are offering a heavy subsidy given the forecasted residual values are somewhat lower than the hatchback! http://www.stablevehiclecontracts.co.uk/volkswagen...
My cars been at the dealership for almost two weeks now,
Dealership tells me there is a delay with number of applications,
i was under impression the checks would have been carried out before delivery of the vehicle to the dealership.
i have been calling dealership daily and can give me no further information other than the documents are with vwfs and waiting for approval,
apparently the docs have been back and forth a few times due to the scan being too dark or too light or a missing document.
this whole experience has been a total shamble.
can anyone clarify the process or have details to contact vwfs to request further information??

I suspect VW and VWFS are playing a game, as has been suggested already, to stop the market being flooded with Rs in 2 years.
It is not as if they do not have previous form - just look at how they messed us all around with the personal/business lease deals before they had to give in.
I like to think that standing up to them made a difference - despite their original protestations, you can now get a personal lease on a lot of VAG cars through VWFS.
The final straw was when it was pointed out to them is was against the law to discriminate against who you sell to.
It doesn't stop them manipulating the market in other ways though.

Has anyone that's picked up their R had issues with their speakers? The drivers side front on mine is crackling and beginning to really annoy me.
when i got mine (about 2 months ago) i was conscious of the drivers side front speaker (above the dash - i have the dynaudio upgrade) buzzing and distorting a bit but it seems to have settled down pretty quickly and i havent been aware of it since. in case of interest to others - i cant notice much of a benefit with the audio upgrade - this car replaced a mk7 gti with standard audio.
My car will have been at the dealer in Telford for 3 weeks tomorrow. Today I got another document to sign and send back. Bl00dy ridiculous.
At least after presenting a copy of the signature for the delivery of my license (printed name 'VW' underneath it) it miraculously turned up within the hour!
They are clearly in no rush to get these cars up - the fella I spoke to said it would be at least a week lead time for delivery once the paperwork is accepted.

my experience
agreed a price of £270 pm inc vat 5 door dsg in red with maintenance and tyre cover
Ordered July 2014
salesman went on the missing list
Contacted by VW a month later saying the salesman had been sacked as he had been promising all sorts that he couldn't deliver.
allocated a new sales person and deal moved to VWFS direct
requoted £303 pm inc vat for the same thing
negotiated a full tank of fuel to compensate (i know it doesn't work out financially but the deal was still good and there was no way i was missing out on the car!)
Car arrived at dealers beginning of October 2014.
Paperwork emailed over.
Signed, scanned proofs and sent all back via email.
Car arrived October 17th with full tank of fuel
Done 7000 happy miles since.
Apart from the hiccup with the tosser of original salesman my experience has been very smooth, to the point where i had asked on more than one occasion, "you sure thats it?"
lol

Also very good lease deals on the SEAT Leon Cupra at the moment.
Just followed this up today and have ordered a Golf R Estate in Lapiz Blue and 19 inch wheels for £294 per month based on 6 & 23. Only 5,000 miles a year but the excess mileage charge is a very modest 6.2p.http://www.stablevehiclecontracts.co.uk/volkswagen...

If you add up the total cost over 2 years (total 20,000 miles) incl excess mileage charge, deposit and £200 finance document charge the monthly cost is £390 per month.
Delivery is July/August

- i have also noticed there seems to be no reverse camera as mentioned in specs. Does yours?
Ill put up some pics soon,
Need a good wash.
Thanks
