I now have a better understanding of why some cars are so delayed.... Seems that there were some weather related issues that put VW's shipping behind schedule. They then had to use an overlflow facility at Emden. Then chaos ensued with the processes, management, controls etc going into melt down at Emden as no one was able to effectively control the process with cars all over the place and the normal well controlled process not being able to be used.

My dealer informa me i have a limit to the number of launch control i can do during the lease period.
He says the ecu records launch controls and may void warrenty.
Is this true? Anyone been given same advice?
Why offer the feature if its limited to use.
Havent heard that before. Scanning the R owners site I cant see this being the case. He says the ecu records launch controls and may void warrenty.

Check warranty and lease docs to see If there's any mention. Sounds like garbage to me. He says the ecu records launch controls and may void warrenty.

Just spotted this deal for the Golf R estate. Not bad considering it is a DSG. Shame there is no manual option.

Also very good lease deals on the SEAT Leon Cupra at the moment.
Just followed this up today and have ordered a Golf R Estate in Lapiz Blue and 19 inch wheels for £294 per month based on 6 & 23. Only 5,000 miles a year but the excess mileage charge is a very modest 6.2p.http://www.stablevehiclecontracts.co.uk/volkswagen...
Also very good lease deals on the SEAT Leon Cupra at the moment.
If you add up the total cost over 2 years (total 20,000 miles) incl excess mileage charge, deposit and £200 finance document charge the monthly cost is £390 per month.
Delivery is July/August
New to the forum. Just ordered the Estate from Stable. Only upgrade was the paint to Lapiz Blue. £264 per month on 6+23. September ETA. The wait begins and rather exited.
My only worry is seeing some of these robberies and jackings. My partner will be using it day to day with my two daughters in the back. Locked doors at all times it seems. Shame we have to live like this.

Can anyone explain what happens at the end of a lease? Do you have the option to purchase your vehicle and if so, at what price? Is the price negociated at the start of the term of is there a pre-determined value upon signing?
It depends on the provider but generally there isn't an option to purchase. You're best bet would be seeing which BCA or Measham auction it ends up at and going along and bidding! va1o said:

If the lease company is owned by a manufacturer or if you leased a car from a normal lease company as they get the cars from the manufacturers I would guess as most of the cars are two years old and in good condition the dealer and lease company do a deal and the cars end up for sale at a dealers forecourt.
I may be wrong but dont think the lease company sells the cars through auctions.

Near the end of the lease period you may be able to extend the lease or possibly buy the car and if this was the case you would only know the price then, not at the start of the lease.

Again 'it depends' is the answer to both!If the lease company is owned by a manufacturer or if you leased a car from a normal lease company as they get the cars from the manufacturers I would guess as most of the cars are two years old and in good condition the dealer and lease company do a deal and the cars end up for sale at a dealers forecourt.

It's unusual to go into a lease agreement with a guaranteed option to buy at the end. However it's not unheard of for the provider to offer this facility once you've completed the contract
Regarding auctions most providers do use them for disposal like Arval, Lex, GE Capital and VWFS to name a few. Sometimes the auction company even collects directly from the leasee at end of contract meaning the car is never seen by the provider. However again there are cases when they'll go directly back to the manufacturers forecourt.
