Freind had one of these on order and it's turned up earlier than expected. He's trying to delay delivery by a couple of weeks until he's ready but the dealer doesn't seem willing to allow this. Anyone else had a similar experience?

Just remind the dealer that you are the customer. If it has arrived earlier than the confirmed delivery date then surely it's an easy conversation.

If dealer has monthly target to meet see ask what incentives they're willing to offer for early collection...

They don't have any of these deals left... if you're to believe them. Cheapest they have now is £310 p/m on a 6+. Prices have went up at end of last week... if you're to believe them.

Interesting, any figures to compare with the GTI and GTD?

HowManyLeft goes up to Q4 2014 only, but may be helpful. https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/volkswagen_g...

Just a quick update on my own order to help people assess timelines - mine has gone a lot faster than anticipated.

Car: Golf R, Deep Black Pearlescent, 3 door, DCC, DSG, Winter pack

24 April 2015 - finance approved and order placed - estimated delivery 07/09/2015
28 May 2015 - Stage 3 - build week confirmed for week commencing 15/06/2015
21 June 2015 - Stage 4 - Build in progress
24 June 2015 - Stage 5 - In transit
3 July 2015 - Stage 6 - Arrived in the UK

Seems to have sped up significantly from previous people's orders.

Looks like mine is going to be around 11 weeks from order to delivery.

Hey guys. Finally decided to go for a Golf R on 2 year lease.
What's the best deals currently???
Looking for hatchback, 5 door, lapiz blue. Not really any extras
Also what kind of time frame would I bee looking at?

I was told September by a lease company but that sounds early to me??

Cheers

Oooh that looks nice! Tornado Red seems to suit the Estate R particularly well

Very nice - I think I'm going to swap my volvo estate for one of these in a year or so. Are those the standard wheels and did you go for any extras?

My only gripe is that for the money, I would like half leather at the very least.

edit: my old corsa vxr was leased through ALD Automotive and the hand back process was effortless FYI. I was never charged for scracthes and dents that were over and above the guidelines which made me even happier.

Cheers for the reply .... same here ... I'll chase them up tomorrow me thinks
I spoke to a guy called Dino at this place about the golf r estate. It comes in dsg only which is included in the price. Also there is a brand new deal on the scirocco r just come through. Very high spec compared to the golf r but only 280 bhp front wheel drive. I think it's only 189 + vat at 6 + 23 for 10000 per year. For me though I think I'd prefer the estate.

Yeah the Scirocco R deal seems good. Spec is generous with Leather, Nav and 19s standard. But it misses out on things like adaptive cruise control because it still sits on the old Golf Mk5 platform

I'm new to this thread. Sorry I've not read all 500+ pages wink

I've found a deal for a R 5 door, manual. 15000 miles/pa nil deposit, tax, insurance and all servicing included, £406/month over three years.

Good deal?

Thanks.
