Well all I can say is anyone worrying about whether the Alor Blue will look good or not should put their mind at rest! The car is absolutley stunning in this colour and on a sunny day like today the colour really does look fantastic, and I say that as someone who was beginning to panic I'd made the wrong choice after some of the comments above.

The car was driven down to me rather than on a wagon so had 160 miles on the clock when delivered. I assume this is normal practice?

Just popped to the garage to stick £50 of V power in her ready for a drive, will take some nice pics while I'm out biggrin

Please do! Did you go dealer direct too or was it through CVL?

Just seen you name in the diary with a tick by it, must be a good thing for the feminine car being close ??
Yes my gender specific vehicle is being collected on Weds eve. Donning make up and wig in case I am sussed out.

Looking forward to any posted pictures! Unfortunately for me, together with many others, I've/we've got another two months to wait!

Can I raise a cheeky request? Does anyone have access to the Evo "Hyper Hatch" review and can post it? I keep looking but can't find a copy local to me and I want to read how it fairs against the competition, aside from the headline quotes that I've seen.

Thanks, C.

Just a couple of quick pics for you all:

The pictures really don't do the colour justice IMO, it's really a very good looking colour and certainly looks the part.

First impressions are very good indeed. The car is surprisingly comfortable in any mode, even Cupra mode was better than I was expecting with it being hard but well damped. Nice and quiet in comfort mode when you want it to be, very easy to drive, lovely gear change, steering is lovely and light around town but firms up excellently when pushing on.

The noise in Cupra mode sounds great to me, very throaty with a good amount of exhaust noise on the over run. Not sure how much of that noise is synthetic but I can't really tell so I'm happy.

Performance wise, it's as good as you are probably expecting, acceleration in 3rd is savage making overtaking slow traffic a doddle, it'll hit three figures before you know it and it pulls in any gear. What's really impressed me though is the cornering ability, I simply can't get my head around how quick this thing will go around a corner, the grip is absolutely phenomenal! You can nail it out of a corner without a hint of oversteer or wheel spin. Easily the best handling FWD car I've been in. Certainly not your everyday shopping barge.

Build quality seems very good, entertainment system seems reasonably easy to understand although I will need to get the instruction manual out for a couple of things hah. Not sure it really needs the ability to upload images to it?? Bizarre.

MPG is pretty poor........worth it.

The colour looks great. Especially in your last photo.

MPG should improve once it gets a few hundred miles on it. That's how it's been on my previous cars anyway. I'm expecting around 28mpg. Anything above that will be a bonus.

Only 2 months to go until I get mine!

That looks superb, Stu, nice one! My 5 dr Alor Blue will not arrive for a couple of months so it is great to see your pics - I think the colour is fantastic. It looks a bit like Audi Sprint Blue but slightly deeper... Did you spec the Sub8 PP or are the calipers painted red as standard?

I am eating humble pie - the colour looks great on the ST. Like a couple of others, I had seen what I thought was the same on other VAG cars but this is very nice, a definite close thing to the Dynamic Grey as the best colour.

I had an e-mail from Carly @ Lookers - I now am status 10!!! Provisional build week is 44 (w/c 31 Oct).

Agreed. The Blue looks good!

Glad to see the cars are turning up at least!

Anyone been tempted by today's GTi deals? I have been thinking about it!

Seriously? In Cupra mode the noise is artificial. I had one on demo for a week. Covered 700+ miles on a variety of roads and in Cupra mode for 95% of the time. The noise really got on nerves to the point where I hated it frown

Check out the main leasing thread - it's a dangerous place! GTi's are £2400 plus ~£100 a month...quicker delivery too apparently.

You talking about the soundaktor? Which can be disabled. I think he's talking about exhaust note.
