Picked mine up yesterday in miserable weather. Signed to say I was happy with the car even though it was covered in rain water. Woke up this morning to find two dents and a crease in the bonnet.
What are you supposed to do if you find those issues when being delivered? Reject the car or accept with the damage noted to be repaired at local dealer?johnwilliams77 said:

I will let you know after Christmas but there is was no chance of spotting this damage when the car is covered in rain water. imran9999 said:
and why would that make a difference?? you can drive it as you please.....
if you look in the manual theres a proper running in procedureif you fail to follow that procedure and theres subsequently a problem with the engine you really think vw are going to honour the warranty?
I've yet to hear of a warranty issue being declined due to not running the car in properly.
Just make sure it has adequate oil levels and serviced on time.
Of course, if your keeping the car long term then i would be more careful.
If something is going to break in the first 2 years then its gonna break no matter how you ran it in.

I've customised the performance monitor to swap g force for oil temp and don't drive it hard until the oil as reached -100 degrees.
ThInk this will serve the engine far better than just following a running in procedure.
Now that mine has 1000 miles on it the engine is starting to feel very willing and the exhaust at lower revs seems more throaty. May be I'm just imagining it.

Hope everyone had a good Christmas and New Years.
The GTi hasn't really left my drive over the holiday period but will making full use of it over this week. No new hidden features found really. The only thing I have noticed is when starting cold and in neutral the car won't rev over 4K (I think). I'm assuming this is a safety thing, until the oil/engine is warm enough? Only noticed when I slipped off the brake pedal on a icey morning.
