Does the apple car play now fit the whole screen on the 2022 models? On my 2020 model it’s shrunk down.
Shrunk - go to 9 mins. I have never actually seen value in Android Auto or Apple Carplay - I must be missing something. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRkfjiVFNvc

I’ve the latest incarnation of the Audi MMI in a C8 A6 with tech pack. Apple CarPlay is just leagues ahead in UI, apps and features.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRkfjiVFNvc
I tried to get on with the Audi system, but it just seems pointless when you can import all the apps and settings from your iPhone. Waze is particularly good.

Just as an enquiry/ update.
Got mine in March. A BE 286 in white.
Fantastic to sit in, fantastic on the motorway.
But… I find the gearbox awful. Especially around town, and if you boot it, it seems to take hours before it launches.
Mentioned to dealer and got waffle about the DSG “learning our style”.
Previous 16 plate Touareg was far smoother.
Touch screen is ok. I’d prefer some more knobs.
And the Lane keeping assist is absolute pile of poo.
It’s nearly killed me a few times.
Looks great. Lovely to sit in. Loads of tech makes no sense.
For example the wife had heated seats on in the evening, if I take it the morning after they’re still on.
Maybe I’m missing something, just a few counter intuitive things.
If I could have given it back after a month I would have.
To repeat, on a motorway it’s great. About town, it’s juddery and over complex.
Gearbox isn't the best out there but I've never felt it to be dire. It does take a moment to kickdown but around town I've never had any issues really. Depends what you are used to I guess. Got mine in March. A BE 286 in white.

The auto in my 840 is definitely better but the auto box doesn't spoil the Toerag for me.
I coded off the lane assist but you can turn it off in the settings although not sure if you have to do that everytime you start. The lane assist on all VAG cars is the same - pretty dangerous!
Shame that's your experience but it's interesting to hear.

I might be due a whoosh parrot here, but Touareg doesn’t have a DSG does it?Mentioned to dealer and got waffle about the DSG “learning our style”.

Pretty sure they didn’t.
They told me all sorts when I couldn’t get the car to link to the app.
Eventually needed a new part. I knew I was doing it right!!
Gearbox - dsg or not. They said it learns your style. Oh aye!!
Well, 6 months in, it hasn’t.
I didn’t get a test drive, maybe wish I had.
It’s a great car though, looks fab, and is nice to be in.
Previous car was an X6 and the gearbox was smooth. And it went fast. If you try and spank the VW it’s just a bit lethargic and jerky from 0. Once you’re 30/40mph it’s far smoother.
Best example is pulling out of a tight junction. You want to go but have to dial in a 2 second delay, which is counter intuitive as you’d go when there is no gap so that by the time it’s actually going you’re in the gap.
I’m sure the previous Touareg wasn’t like this. 2016 model was a great car and never put a foot wrong. And cost half what this costs. That’s life!!

I’ve been fortunate in going direct to a vw dealer ( Newcastle) original order Jan 22 as they pulled out all the stops in finding an alternative spec vehicle that was in build so I went from a standard BE grey metallic to moonlight blue…. I had earlier specd 4 wheel steering but was advised this build wouldn’t be available until at least April 2023 so scrubbed it….
BMW 840i GC goes back the day before- great car but looking forward to the practical side of the Touareg and the ease of getting in / out !
What a bargain we had with the 8 series lease!

I've posted on here a couple of times summarising our BE 286.
The gear box is frustrating. I've found is best either in ECO mode for smoother lower speed driving or manual mode.
After 2 years its still a great car. Better in many ways than the RR Sport or X5. The engine, space and refinment continues to impress me.
But the gearbox programming, safely systems and controls just make it frustrating and difficult to gel with.
The gearbox could be better but I've never found it an issue that bugs me even though I drive the 8 series which has a superb auto box. The gear box is frustrating. I've found is best either in ECO mode for smoother lower speed driving or manual mode.

The safety systems - I coded lane assist off and also activated the dynaudio profile. The impact sensor has come on a few times but is far less intrusive than in a new A6 I had which actually slammed on the brakes a few times.
Not a fan of the steering wheel buttons I have put the heated wheel on accidently a few times. Rest of the controls I'm fine with.

Was the coding done by your or an independent?
I’m keen but was worried re warranty etc.
Front crash assist has done me once. Nearly needed new underwear!!
My detailer does any coding like that using OBD11 I believe. I have never had a problem taking it in for servicing etc as have done this on previous VAG cars and returned coding to normal prior to it going back. Heck, I’m keen but was worried re warranty etc.

I stuck a full Milltek system on my S5 lease and took it to the dealer with it on, removed it before return and had no issues. Understand if others were not as up for doing things like that.

Great news you should have it in a couple of weeks!
……Arrived today ! First impressions very good indeed, impressive performance and standard spec, getting to know the infotainment system etc - fairly intuitive once played with, Google earth looks great, like the fully adjustable seats, pan roof great, wheels shod on Pirelli’s rather than Bridgestones…air suspension good, doors seem huge but will get used to them , dog proofing ordered for rear…..just a matter of learning it’s size albeit it’s a smaller foot print to the 840, but fair to say I’m pleasantly surprised so far :-)
What a cracking pic! Was looking forward to your views as I have ran one for the wife alongside the 8 series and at the weekend it's Touareg everytime hence getting a second. ……Arrived today ! My monthly payment is bang on, however, my first payment baring in mind this is a 9 +35 seems to be around 6.5 months upfront all including vat - I’ve not mentioned it before as I was waiting for the confirmation letter from VW which arrived today, looks like a cock up but in my favour as I can’t think of another explanation for it
Unless they bundled the road tax increase all into your first payment? My monthly is u by just over £4. My car is arriving at the dealer tomorrow so hopefully delivery can be sorted before the end of next week.

To explain my upfront payment I was expecting as per quote was 9 x monthly payment - but appears to be around 6.5 monthly payment- can’t understand the variation but it’s a cheapened a fair amount the deal so happy :-)
Oh its gone down thought it had gone up. Top stuff! Ours arrives at the dealer today and our GTI Clubsport is on the boat. All change on the driveway. How are you bedding in with the Toerag?

All positive so far…. Looking forward to taking it on a trip next week to stretch its legs etc, and work out which driving mode suits the car best.
Have you got a home delivery date yet for your aqua marine BE ?
Yes it arrives a week today - the Golf GTI CS should land at the dealer end of next week. Have you got a home delivery date yet for your aqua marine BE ?
