Good news indeed smile

That was pretty quick shipping. Looks like 5/6 weeks after build.

Just spoken to my dealer and that's the car built and on the way to the port of exit.

Status 30 (in Transit from factory). Commission status 4 (Production finished). And the VIN number and engine number are also given.

So that's pretty much 4 months since ordering early February. Hopefully mid August delivery should be on the cards (NB. don't care about the number plate change in September).

PS. Someone that I was taking to on N-cars.net has just been quoted 20 months for delivery of a factory order I20N. Crazy times.

Not heard from my dealer yet, I'm hoping mine is keeping yours company at the port now. Fingers crossed.

Yes indeed. !! .
Mine surely has to be the longest on order - that I know of on the forums.
Did you have an actual build week day ?
As I'm thinking your car will be in our build batch and boat,

So should be built this week then hopefullysmile (IE. build week 25).

Just goes to show in my opinion ... that they tend to open the order book wayyy before they actually start to schedule / build cars frown
Also not convinced (regardless of what the dealers say), that it's "first come, first served"! Which isn't really fair.

I wonder how they schedule spraying the body shells etc. ?
IE. Do they spray one colour a week? or a certain number of each colour per week?
Just wondering if this can effect when your order gets a build slot?

Mike , A sunoof probably adds to the main car production, along with the paint choice as you stated.
I would also assume they colour batch to save time, but you never know ....

Yes build is this week. And agreed I think the actually scheduling appears to have happened in February.

Other than the generic ( I assume) email from VW today about the delays etc, another salesperson at the dealership recons my car is built, and is likely to be ready to leave the factory. ( My salesman is on holidays until end of next week) So hopefully I will get the in transit email soon.

When you get a chance to speak to your sales guy, get him to Email a copy of the screen for your order from the VW ordering system (a couple of seconds work for them). My guys done it a couple of times for me.

On it you should see something like:

Status 30 (in Transit from factory). Commission status 4 (Production finished). And the VIN number and engine number are also given.

This will tell you exactly whats going on and where things are at.

I believe at some point in the proceedings, they can tell you what ship its on. I believe its then possible to see where the ship is.
www.marinetraffic.com looks interesting.

Though maybe I'm starting to take things a bit too far smile

I was hoping one of you proud new Polo owners might be able to do some notes on the car, ideally compared to one of the older models?

I picked up a 2017 Fabia DSG last year and it’s been great as a family runabout and occasional longer distance car. I’m thinking of ordering a brand new replacement as it’s also newest of our fleet.

A Polo in Life spec looks like an ideal replacement.
