Q7 4.2Tdi Brake squeal

I was hoping someone might be able to assist, a few months ago I had new pads on our Q7 and when I collected it, the garage told me the discs were worn. I drove around with old discs and new pads for 2 or 3 weeks and no problem, Get new Pagid discs and even after a 1,000 miles, there is a squeal at final braking.
As I'm writing this I just realized that I never saw the box for the pads although the garage tell me they are Pagid.
Is there any brand of pads better or anything I can suggest they do in a friendly way prior to making a complaint.

I spoke to EBC when my rears squealed even 600 miles after fitting. They sent me some of this which cured the squealing immediately:-

but I'd not pay the £12.60 plus shipping the above company ask for it. Pagid might send some out. Just remove the pads, cut the sticky shims to size and stick on the caliper side of all the pads and refit.

I have exactly the same issue with mine, albeit a small squeal almost at the point of stopping. Generally stops squealing after some heavy braking (I know old braking systems used to "glaze" the disk), but comes back after a short period of gentle braking. I am not too fussed by it at the moment, as I am sure the disks and pads will need to be replaced at the next service.
Many mechanics seem to suggest putting copper slip where the pistons touch the pads, as this generally helps reduce/remove the noise
