Poor service from Audi dealer

I would also ask the dealer very specifically (and don't accept a dimwit answer from the service advisor) to attempt adaptation of the compressor. Be a polite, but firm and persistent thorn in their side. Squeaky wheel and all that.
Not Audi, but with other VW Group brands I've found the only way to get any sense out them is to deal with the service manager (sometimes called After Sales Manager or even Director). It's not always possible though - I won't deal with our local VW dealer as the Service Manager completely refused to speak to me (and VW UK, much to their obvious dismay). Another branch of the same group have been really good to deal with.
As far as a courtesy / loan car is concerned, it's a tough one - there will be people who think 'no a/c' is a first world problem, and will joke about our summer weather, but I wouldn't want to drive a car these days without it. VW Group hire cars from Enterprise when needed so they should be able to sort something out.

Is rejecting the car not an option?
Friend had a Q5 Etron, although only briefly.Issue with the infotainment system, and Audi said the same.
"Aware, but no current fix"
Peterborough Audi took the car back and refunded
I'd suggest the same to OP
Audi's incompetence shouldn't become the customer's problem.
It happens and is more common than you think; particularly so with new/newer cars.
Nobody will tell you that it isn't frustrating (the franchise dealers included), but cars need fixing. Sometimes the fault is unexpected and a remedy isn't immediate, even though everyone would like it to be.
Were the manufacturers to foot the bill for a hire car for every single customer, every single time such a thing happened the price of the car would have to reflect this.
Cold, but true.

I won't name the dealer, however after getting my petrol car serviced some 6 months ago, I mentioned to the service advisor that I may move to an EV in the near future. He suggested I think twice and cited the numerous problems around EV support from Audi HQ being terrible and not having enough resources on ground to understand the technology. Sounds like nothing has improved..

I think the issue is more on the software side of things to be honest. I mean our Q4 infotainment system has been rubbish from day one, and to be honest i can put up with that, but somthing as "basic" as air con not working is a joke. I think VAG need a root and branch investigation on how they as a group provide modern, reliable software for thier cars systems.G
It's an industry-wide complaint/observation/thing.
There are huge growing pains from the shift to combustion-engined mechanical items to "tech product" EVs (and all the stages between those two). Almost like everything we've learned over the last century of car making has had a reset and we're all starting again.

So just as an update, we got back in touch with Audi customer services after waiting for the supposed fix date which they said was Q2 this year, only to be told by the same guy that there is still no fix, and no confimed date for a fix. We first reported this almost a year ago now. Really disapointed with Audi customer services. There are huge growing pains from the shift to combustion-engined mechanical items to "tech product" EVs (and all the stages between those two). Sounds like you should have parked outside their showroom on the 1st of March and caused a stink.
Yeah, no A/C is a bit "first world problems", but you've paid a not inconsiderate amount for a product which isn't working.
Exactly. It's OK this time of year but come hot summer days it's a real pain.Yeah, no A/C is a bit "first world problems", but you've paid a not inconsiderate amount for a product which isn't working.
