Google then redesigned their's and released it in 2013. I haven't used Apple maps since.

Yeah, I understand it has. And somebody mentioned new A4 drivers are being impressed too, so I assume it's the same/similar etc.Car magazines first report on their Arteon showed 40mpg for the month, and I'm fairly sure that should be the same as the A4.
