"Chipping" Audi A3 2.0 TFSI
Discussion
Hi,
If I was to be buying a 2.0 TFSI A3, and if I did indeed feel the urge for more power, what would my options be?
I've been told that it's fairly easy to install a remapped ECU which would boost power from the standard 200PS up to around 250-260PS - has anyone on here had this modification done? In your opinion; is it worth it? And finally; which remap specialists are the best?
Thanks in advance,

TFSI motor is cryng out for a tweak and when fettled really does go like snot off a stick.
Expect 260 brake and 300lb ft, but do be very careful to keep an eye on the oil and let it warm up and cool down properly. I believe most of the TFSI engines in 200BHP trim use the K03s turbo and 260 BHP is (reputedly) right on the limit.
Steer clear of superchips and the usual monkeys with laptops, but AMD, DMS, Revo... etc all have pretty good names in the market place and are large enough to want to help should something go wrong.

What he said.I can't remember who the good tuners are in Scotland but there is one in Glasgow. Have a look on Tyresmoke.net & I'm sure that you will find a tried & tested one.
FYI - you don't need to remove the ECU chip. There is an OBD port just above the ashtray in the centre console where the tuners & dealers tap into to interrogate the ECU. Think of it as a USB port where you can just send over a different engine map. To get the most out of your engine, you might want to consider an aftermarket exhaust system & and/or an air induction kit. Changing the fuelling is one thing but if your baby can't breathe properly, she ain't going to be at her best, is she?
Lets say you do get an A3 2.0TFSI and you do want a tune up you're pretty much open to anything.
The 2.0TFSI in the S3 is already at 265bhp
A mates uncle chipped his Leon FR TFSI to 240bhp
and my uncle has had some work done to his (ex225bhp) 1.8T Audi TT Roadster so that now has 350bhp and 350lb ft of torque.
All I can say about chipping or fettling really is make damned sure it's a frickin' Quattro!!! The 240brake Leon spins its fronts through 1st, 2nd and part of 3rd gear in the wet! Such a bonkers car...
