A4 Auto Brake Pedal Travel
Discussion
I changed the front pads on a friends A4 3.0 V6 Cabriolet today... not a problem.
After test driving it he reckons there is more travel in the brake pedal.
With the engine off the pedal is solid, with the engine on you can press the pedal down about 3/4.
When driving it starts slowing as soon as the pedal is pressed but as I metioned there is a lot of travel.
Unfortunately I didn't drive it before changing the pads so I don't know what it was like before.
Any ideas?

Most new pads wont give you full braking power until a few hundred miles worth of normal driving (they have to bed into the grooves of your existing discs). Its probably that - unless you opened up the bleed nipple to move the pistons back in which case you may need to bleed the brakes as air could have entered the system.
