does it make a diffrence and how much?????

This is actually a very interesting question.
It is well documented on the advantages of Super unleaded petrol from both an ignition timing and cleaning additives point of view.
Obviously diesel is heavy oil, but reading the BP website they claim extra cleaning additives as well......
So long term use should keep injectors clean and thus more efficient.

My current daily driver is a 2000 A4 TDI PD with 108,000 on the clock. It's filled with supermarket diesel and has never suffered any ill effects. On the odd occasion I've had to fill it with 'premium diesel' the only difference I've noticed has been in my wallet.
My previous car was a 1997 A4 TDI which had 198,000 miles on it when I sold it. It too used supermarket diesel and it too was totally trouble-free.
The biggest influence on economy is yout right foot. Floor it all the time and you'll get less mpg than if you drive more gently. By comparison, changing fuel won't make a noticeable difference neither will performance improve - if you want more performance, get your car's ECU re-mapped.
