Hi everyone.
I have just picked up my new (to me) car.
Its a 54 reg 3.0 TDI S-Line saloon.65k on clock.

It will need to have new discs and pads soon - what size are they?! Where would you buy and what kind?Im thinking EBC Ultimax discs and ferodo pads.

What tyres would you put on - the rears are rubbish ones to pass MOT.....

I just did front disks and pads on my 07 A6 3.0tdi Le Mans. Audi discs as cheap as any others and shopping around were as cheap to fit at the dealer.

Tyres on my 19 inch rims to date have been Pirelli Pzero (original), Dunlop SP9000, Vredstein Ultrac Sessantas..............the vredsteins are the best so far, now 5000 miles in.

OE discs and pads are really good. Quiet, good feel and no fade. Euro Car Parts for OE kit at very cheap prices.

thumbup I just bought 4 to replace the aging p-zero's that were on. And I agree, they are fantastic, only 150 miles in.

I'd be interested to know how much a set of front pads are too, I think mine are wearing a bit thin.

For tyres try Falken Fk452's, they've been great on my S4 and were cheaper than most other branded tyres.

Falkens will be fine in the dry, but are lethal in the wet. Same as Toyos and all similar Jap budget ranges.

Conti, Michelin or Pirelli are the choice for a Quattro that is 'enjoyed' on a daily basis.

I think some of those tyres listed are not suitable, they have differing load index. You need to check the load index as well as speed rating and size

eg my A6 needs XL tyres I cant remember the load index but 96 springs to mind. I dont think that the Goodyears listed above would be suitable its important that you get this right.

The Falken 452 and tyhe Vredstein have good reputations. Camskill is worth looking at for good prices as are Blackcircles

Is that mytyres prices by any chance??

Avoid them, I ordered 4 Vredestiens on the 26 of June, called on the 30th to see where they were, I was told that they would be dispatched the next day, called again on the 2nd of July, only to be told that they didn't know when they would be dispatched. Useless tts.

So ordered the same from Camskill on the thursday, arrived on the friday. thumbup more expensive, but I needed them in a hurry.

Blimey, my Contis were the thick end of £300 each. Are those tyres rated for 150mph and 800kg?

Regarding Falkens

The ZE912's aren't even fit for purpose in my mind, I used them and the FK452's. THe 452's are really very good, dont do what I did and assume the 912's would be also, its not the case.

Cheers for that tame tech - I think the 452's are the one.
Just about to order the front pads and discs - leaving the rears for now as
a) i still can't confirm exact size!
b) they are not as badly worn as the front!

Going for TRW front pads and I think EBC ultimax grooved discs...
