Should we buy a new Polo GTi?
Discussion
Tried a Polo Gti today and considering putting in the Golf Gti Tdi against it and taking delivery of a new one in March 2013. Have read a few reviews and comments and would be glad of your feedback - particularly from anyone who has one.
I hear that the DSG box is unpopular so that worries me slightly with regard to re-sale. However, it impressed me so it's a shame that it's putting people off.
Also I gather there has been some talk of it needing more oil than expected?
The other issue would seem to be should I be considering it's French rivals, or does anyone have any other suggestions. With our chosen spec it's coming up to nearly £20k which is a lot of money for a Polo ......

Thanks for the feedback guys. Haven't decided yet so, in the interests of balance, I am going to try a 'warm' hatch today - the Suzuki Swift Sport. It has had excellent reviews and sounds like fun. It may just do the same job for a lot less money. However, I wont be trying the French rivals to this range as my husband used to sell Peugeots (amongst many other brands) and the quality was cr*p!
Well the Swift Sport was fun BUT it's no VW is it?!?!
I know we are talking a big price difference tho' so I would say that for the money it's great fun.
So we are one stage closer to making a decision but that now comes down to a low mileage nearly new Golf GTi or a brand new Polo GTi which they are offering a tidy deal on currently.![scratchchin](/inc/images/scratchchin.gif)
