Ordered my new car at the end of Nov. The dealer now says that Skoda are quoting no build dates at all for TDI VRS's.

Do they have supply issue or is the dealer just playing silly buggers to hid the fact they have been slow processing the order.

Coming from BMW who were super efficient last time I'm not happy!

Any thought?

Aparently skoda uk have told dealers to quote 18 to 20 weeks and they won't put the order on if the dealer is over quota. All of which seems to mean a car ordered late nov may well not be delivered until june or july.
Not impressed. .....

OP here!

The car is fairly well specced up. Glass roof, sunset glass, posh sat nav, Meteor grey etc.
None of which was advised to add to the leadtime.
My real issue is the lack of clarity from the dealer who is now getting shirty that Skoda UK have told me about the quotas.

I work in manufacturing and fully understand the issues of supply and demand. It would be nice to be to fully equiped with the facts before placing the order.

I agree clarity would have helped ease the frustration greatly.

My order has been accepted by the factory so I have the magic SLI (?) number now but the car is at status 0 As I understand this means they have no Idea when they will build it. Skoda Uk were very pleasent about it but could offer no insight other than flannel. It makes no sense that there is that little vision in the supply chain as to when they have parts and a slot to begin the build.
I have heard various comments that VAG are just like that but it really is not good customer service.

I guess I just have to wait. It is a shame because I have no doubt it will be great when it comes

Excusing my ignorance of the system. Does the fact that the factory has issued to SLI number mean that I am at least past he dealer quota hold up?
I can live with over demand creating delays. Not so happy about mixed info form suk. It sounds like the girl who told me about quotas got in trouble for telling me. The chap who called me back more or less told me there was no such thing and just waffled.

I am swapping from a BMW to something I actually think will be the best compromise on the market. The A4 is too small.

Also if I am not mistaken the AUDI is still VAG and therefore has exactly the same issues with company structure and under capacity.

Th A6 is very nice but a little pricy for my budget. The Octavia with loads of extras came in cheaper about 5k under my budget! BIK for company car tax was better too.
Very happy with my choice I just can't believe how disorganised they are.

I have now been allocated week 19 but Skoda UK think this will improve as we get closer

I ended up cancelling my order. Ordered end of Nov and best estimate of delivery July or August but nothing certain!

I have now manged to bag a Rallye Green cancelled order VRS not quite the spec I was looikng for but on the up side it exists! In theory it should be at the dealers in the next week!

Oh and the sun is shining so commuting in my Seven is not so bad for acouple of weeks until it arrives!
