Poor service from Audi dealer
Discussion
Hi there. The air conditioning in our Q4 Etron isn't blowing cold air.
After waiting 3 months to book into our local Audi dealership they told us that there is an Audi Technical Service Bulliting which states this is a known issue, and there is no current fix. So they say thier hands are tied and they cant fix it, and they also can't tell us when it will be fixed.
Does anyone have access to check if this Technical Service Bulliting exisits? The local dealers told us to talk to audi uk, and that was that. Can't say im too hapy with Audi.

Is it they know what the issue is or they don’t have the means to test.
Thanks for that - So they told me that the TSB states there is no fix to my issue, and that audi are looking into it, and until audi find a fix there's nothing they can do. They mentioned that the issue requires some kind of software update. Is it they know what the issue is or they don’t have the means to test.

Neither of those TPIs will be the one the dealer are referring to.
I'm not at work until Friday, but if you PM me your chassis I'd be able to check if what they're saying is correct when I'm next in.

Here you go:
Carrying out software adaptation (effectively the process of installing/calibrating a new part) appears to offer a temporary fix. Ask if this has been done and/or can be done.
Thanks for this. Our dealer is adamant there is nothing they can do, which seems to be correct according to that document.Carrying out software adaptation (effectively the process of installing/calibrating a new part) appears to offer a temporary fix. Ask if this has been done and/or can be done.
So where does this leave us then? Are we just expected to wait until/if Audi find a fix? Seems mad to me that it's acceptable for Audi to basically say "tough luck" when the car is under warranty.

Yup. I suppose there's a slim chance you could wrangle a courtesy car, but if the problem is widespread there won't be enough to go around.
Thanks for the info. I asked if there's any chance they could provide a curtesy car and it was a firm no.Must say we're disapointed in Audi. Not what I expect from a so called premium brand.

I won't name the dealer, however after getting my petrol car serviced some 6 months ago, I mentioned to the service advisor that I may move to an EV in the near future. He suggested I think twice and cited the numerous problems around EV support from Audi HQ being terrible and not having enough resources on ground to understand the technology. Sounds like nothing has improved..

I think the issue is more on the software side of things to be honest. I mean our Q4 infotainment system has been rubbish from day one, and to be honest i can put up with that, but somthing as "basic" as air con not working is a joke. I think VAG need a root and branch investigation on how they as a group provide modern, reliable software for thier cars systems.G

It's an industry-wide complaint/observation/thing.
There are huge growing pains from the shift to combustion-engined mechanical items to "tech product" EVs (and all the stages between those two). Almost like everything we've learned over the last century of car making has had a reset and we're all starting again.
So just as an update, we got back in touch with Audi customer services after waiting for the supposed fix date which they said was Q2 this year, only to be told by the same guy that there is still no fix, and no confimed date for a fix. We first reported this almost a year ago now. Really disapointed with Audi customer services. There are huge growing pains from the shift to combustion-engined mechanical items to "tech product" EVs (and all the stages between those two). Sounds like you should have parked outside their showroom on the 1st of March and caused a stink.
Yeah, no A/C is a bit "first world problems", but you've paid a not inconsiderate amount for a product which isn't working.
Exactly. It's OK this time of year but come hot summer days it's a real pain.Yeah, no A/C is a bit "first world problems", but you've paid a not inconsiderate amount for a product which isn't working.
