2001 (51 plate) Audi A3 CD Changer

Hi all,

A friend of mine has recently bought a 2001 (51 plate) Audi A3 1.8i and it only comes with a tape player.

The tape player does have a button marked CC/CD and I believe this means it can be used to control a CD changer in the boot.

He's asked me if the PH collective can confirm the part number, etc that he needs for the CD changer, where and how it's mounted and the connections needed to do so.

I am told that as you're looking into the boot, the CD changer is mounted on top of the sub type thing but have no idea what to tell him to buy and how to install.....

Over to the PH collective - can you help ?

No, it's certainly not the BOSE head unit - just a real standard looking tape and radio type affair (needing a code which, get this, Audi want £106.00 to sort out!!!!!).

Thanks for the heads up, i'll pass on to him and as he's popping over for the footie tonight - dig around in the wheel arch for the connector. Is it a standard 13 pin round connector we're looking for?
