Very useful.

Is there a general owners manual,. i.e. what do the switches on the dash do etc?
Not sure about online but there should be a black leather A5 size book which contains the handbook and service sheets. Pity if it's missing.

Ah. I did see that, only looked at the service bits.

Its quite stunning what people sell old stuff off these cars for.

You can still buy the Steve Heath book directly from him, a new copy, don’t get tricked into over bidding on EBay...... I bought mine from him about 4 months ago.

For an exhaust mounting bracket that clamps to the exhaust pipes and takes the ‘L’ shaped bracket, have a chat with Tim at ACT, this is one fitted to my car

It covers approx 2500 miles/year, usually fine weather and only in the summer, we go to LeMans each year for her annual soaking lol, then I clean it all when we get back........sad I know, but seems a shame to let it get filthy

Are you able to get underneath to check the main fuse before you set off ?? Maybe an idea to give it a look to see its condition ( if its the older type, that may be fractured).

Are you there yet???

If it's the Dudley in the West Midlands, then I'm less than 5 miles away if you need any assistance. But you won't I'm sure.

Enjoy the ride home.

cool

I've sent you a PM, just in case

Thanks for the offers & suggestions.

I just got home, cold, slightly deaf and smelling of petrol. So it seems to be working as well as the day it left the factory cool

The lists of bugs so far...

So far
seat belts (replace harnesses)
Handbrake (adjust)
Exhaust (fix brakes)
Tyres (replace)
Thermostat ( suspect it’s too low 62 degree I think)
Trickle charger (buy)
Heater (workout if it is really that crap)

I'm surprised about the heater. They're usually good, perhaps too good! Hardly ever get them to blow anything less than slightly warm minimum.

If you feel the handbrake is very stiff or only goes on a couple of clicks, well it's a case of TADTS!

Hand brake goes all the way up but doesn’t really grip.

Heater... reminds me of an S Type I had, common failure of a valve that didn’t work. It could also be the low stat that’s been fitted. Either way only a small boy is blowing out of the one on the passenger side.

Thats exactly how they 'work'. A huge success there !! You really should have emptied your wallet at a couple of petrol stations along the way for the full effect.

Otherwise, well done.
