Not sure if this helps but i have a brand new set of boxed MO5 painted black in 17", they have been finished by hand as Compomotive don't do a great job at the factory! They are same as the ones on the Griff in the above picture!PM me if your interested

The AJP Griff- Thinking about your point of maintaining the 1" dia difference front to rear has helped I could go for 205/45 x 16 front on a 7" width ET 27 and 245/45 x 17 rear on a 8" width probably ET 42 which I could add a spacer to if the tyre sits to far in, or if I get brave enough to modify the arch.

And both tyre sizes are available in Toyo R1R's. The rolling dia is +4.9mm front and +0.9mm rear which is a nats duffle coat of variation from my standard set up now.

There is the slight sacrifice of tyre wall height -10.25mm front and -12.25mm rear, but ony 5/6mm of radius its not huge.

Thank you!!!

pics please!
Not the best pic in the world I'm sorry but you get the idea.I'm really not so sure if I like the colour now and might well return to anthracite when the car is finished. Also the pic does show it could do with lowering a tad. When I had them on my last griff the tyres were close to the top of the arch rim at rear and front and looked so much better(like the red griff earlier in this thread),but that will be sorted with the Nitrons. One thing I have noticed is just how much difference the wheels and tyres make to the steering and handling in their own right as last time the Nitrons were fitted before the wheels so I didnt really appreciate just how much of the improvement came from them alone and the improvement is huge.

Sounds strange when the original wheels should be 205/55r15 and 225/50r16. If you go 1 inch bigger you should have 205/50r16 and 225/45r17, alternatively 225/45r16 and 245/40r17. This will give the same diameter as standard setup. I run the latter on 7,5x16 et25 and 9x17 et33 with no problemos... Handles and looks great!

I meant 245/40 x 17 rear tyre. My car came with 205/50 x 15 front so I matched the slightly lower profile tyres rolling dia rather than 55 that you say the car would have been originaly fitted with,
so thanks for that.

I may go for the wider front tyre as you say, some of my trouble has been trying to decide on dia and offset of wheel and matching that to the Toyo R1R tyre size availability that I would prefer to use.

I had been told that just a half inch increase to the front wheel width with std offset means the inside wheel touches the wishbones on full lock, are you saying that doesnt happen on your car?

No such problems when I did that. I ran an 8" front 17" mo6 last time, easily fitting with std 25mm offset,no rack stops and all that stuff. When you think about it as long as you keep the offsets the same and the total diameter the same then you only have the tyre and rim width to think about. Then the rim isnt usually that siginificant as the tyre is usually wider! I just looked at it as my 15" wheel plus the high profile originals(some run 225's as well as 205's) wouldnt realistically occupy less space in the arch. The rear is more concern as the tyre is some 20mm wider than the 245's but now I know thats ok as well smile

Thank you once again! Im quietly confident that I have the right wheel and tyre size sorted now, I guess other than my car having some unique dimmensions all should be well.

I hope to have the wheels on the car by the end of the month so will post some photo's then.

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but what are your exact wheel and tyre specs here please? Thinking of getting MO6 myself, so starting to do some homework.
