Old Lotus Elans often suffer with stuck clutches after not being used for a month or two, it's always the driven plate stuck to the flywheel never to the pressure plate. On the Lotus I jam the clutch pedal down and can access the edge of the flywheel from under the car and put a thin screwdriver to twist between the flywheel and the driven plate, comes free every time.

thanks guys smile - I need to have master cylinder sorted first - any experienced mechanic willing to do it in a nice big dry barn nr Kettering Northants?

I have a long private drive at the farm so able to do some hot runs afterwards hopefully smile

That’s not a easy job either, well removing it. I did mine about 7 years ago and the master brake cylinder was a mk3 fiesta diesel spec.
