Leadfoot
I have 35mm offset all round. at first I was a bit unsure about this as it's different from the original, but spoke to the guy at compomotive wheels who supply the wheels for the racing chims in malaysia, and he recommends this for 8" wide wheels.
So thats what I ordered and must say it all works rather well.

Gerjo,
May I take a look at your brake upgrade at Zolder. I have been out with LF at Goodwood with his Hi Spec upgrade and I know 2 or 3 other people who have been very happy with their work.
I see you have also gone for Ferodo 2500. Got a friend who rates these above anything else he has used and was in fact using the next compound but has given up on the basis that they EAT discs ! 2500 is not as bad allegedly ..
of course, see you there (or in the hotel bar )
As the idea of the conversion kit is to allow the factory to reduce the stockpile of 16inch spiders, I would think the chances of getting just the conversion are low (would you not have to change the disks anyway if the hub pattern changes). but worth a go.
I have had many conversations with the factory re the kit/wheels (as I am on the list for some) and the 18inch spiders will not fit, the RR can be maintained so the fact that they are 18inch is not the problem, the problem is that the 18inch spiders a 8.5 inches wide, and these foul the arches, and the steering on the front is not set to take 8.5 rims and it binds, (apparently)
but when I have got my conversion done I may, speak nicely to my dealer to see what the fit is like anyway..

Can you fit the 18's to the back and 16's to the front? Not only would this maintain the proportions, it would mean that there are more 16's to go around.
Ian A.
humm standard fit on the back is 16x7.5 the 18 would be 18x8.5 it may go, the factory is saying Noooo to the 18 on grounds of width.. I have spoken with Neil Anderson at the factory who is the eng who did the conversion. if you wish an answer he is the best bet.

Alright I'll give the categorical answer to the question and seeing as my Griffith was wearing spiders on a converstion identical to that now being done by the factory several months before they wheeled out "their new idea" I should know as I actually DID the engineering to make the parts.
18" spiders will fit on the back and have enough clearance on a standard set up, however they will not go on the front without a) adjustable shocks and a rise in ride height and b) a lock stop on the steering which would reduce the turning circle to ridiculous, as they rub on the arches with very little effort.
As ever though with all things TVR this could vary from car to car, but was the findings from actually trying it on mine.
