My Griff.
11704............07-02-92........Boutique Green originally...... 4.0 GF
Just out of curiosity I've been trying to find what Boutique Green would have looked like and searched as many TVR paint codes as I can find withot success. 11704............07-02-92........Boutique Green originally...... 4.0 GF
Here is the Vin plate.
It looks like 2CX5 to me.
Send me a PM with a link if anyone can help.

11599 registered 9/1/92 - pastel yellow (not sure of exact colour) but was a 1991 motorshow car and also the first customer car - original reg J7768CNW. 11756 was also a 91 motorshow car and also a press car in dark grey - reg J524MHG - also a 4.5 and used by Neill Anderson as a mule.
FFG
Does anyone have pictures of these 2 Griffs at the 1991 motorshow?FFG
Was the 3rd one Candy Apple Red or was that the 1992 motorshow?

I think it’s pretty clear now that the Grey Griff on the 1991 Motorshow stand was not J524 MGH as I’ve just found this under the drivers seat FFG

I owned the yellow car on the 91 Motorshow stand. It was Nissan 2 stage pearl yellow same colour as was used on the 300ZX and a std Nissan colour although when I bought the car it had a chip at the RHS of the boot opening and HHC said they would sort before I picked it up and when I did it was obvious it was wrong as the rear quarter was pink base not white. In TVR folklore they couldn't do it at HHC and it went back to the factory and had to be resprayed fully ! I never lived that down …
The other 2 cars where a BRG and a red car. Mine had the yellow dials and carbon fibre dash which I got offered when I called them but the dials never worked as just for the show, I stupidly never took them up on it. My car had extra long wiring so the ECU could be tweeked live from the passenger seat and the engineers at the factory used it up and down the motorway from Blackpool to tune the ECU. I also had a new gear lever as the linkage snapped and no air vent hardwhere behind the dash as it was the show car and rushed.
Had it 13 years and wonder who has it now as I know Tweety sold it on now.
I have the pictures I took at the show somewhere and even had the old mags it appeared in but Ive moved a few times and a divorce means they are 'safe' somewhere I cant place my hands on but will have a look.
Got lots of old TVR brochures and stuff from when my Ex worked for TVR at the Motorshow if anyone is interested?

I have it in my head from somewhere that one of the 1991 show cars was Candy Red and Peter Wheeler wouldn't offer the colour on a customer car, but one customer did persuade him and she had a candy red 4.3 pre-cat. The only other TVR done in Candy Apple Red was the T400R/T440R that TVR101 are restoring.........I think lol

One of the 1991 show cars was indeed Candy Apple Red and it was me (Debbie) that persuaded Peter to let us order ours that colour. Registered 11/3/92 11760 and we still have it. It was completely rebuilt by the factory after we had an accident in 1997 hence the 500 nose.I have it in my head from somewhere that one of the 1991 show cars was Candy Red and Peter Wheeler wouldn't offer the colour on a customer car, but one customer did persuade him and she had a candy red 4.3 pre-cat. Debbie I remember meeting you and your husband in 94/95/96 and you telling me the story about Peter Wheeler not wanting to do this for you, I think we might have been in Zolder but can't remember as it is now 25 years ago!!!

if anyone is interested and keeping this list up to date, my '92 4.3 shown below just after its refreshed paint job is number 11881.
Colour is Starfire Mica Blue and it was first registered 5/5/1992.
Looks Fantastic !!!Colour is Starfire Mica Blue and it was first registered 5/5/1992.
My chassis is 5 after yours (11886) and first registered 03/07/92, therefore mine must have been collecting dust for about 2 months in a dealer. I remember them new and always wanted a Precat to avoid the cats.
Mine looks the same blue but is Toyota Dark Mica 8E3 also known as Trafalgar Blue
