Black 'project' 400 Griff...Moves up a gear...
Discussion
I've decided to do a 'body off' resto, on my recently acquired 400. There doesn't seem to be a great deal of info on here, or indeed, in the Bible, regarding the unbolting, and separation of body and chassis.
Any tips/advice would be gratefully accepted.!! I have access to post lifts, pit, etc. - Thank God.!!

Body is finally off.!!!
The use of a 2 post ramp made it a hell of a lot easier...
The outriggers have been repaired - By a muppet! No seat belt mounts, no rear holes in plates...and only half sleeved from the underneath.!!
I guess the bodger has been at it again - Photos to follow...

Only a body off will confirm if it has had a bodged job, you're doing this the right way body off peace of mind, so your not driving in someone's elses manufactured death trap
You're right, Portzi...initialy, it was going to be a new interior, and a paint job. Then I thought 'with the time of year dictating a lay-up, I decided to spend the paint job money on the chassis...complete with Super Pro bushes, and new adjustable suspension...mechanicals first, and paint the car in Apri.!!I'm looking into a hot zinc flame sprayed chassis, with powder coating on top...just waiting g for the estimate...

Hi Manic, lf l have only l regret with my body lift l wish l had it zinc sprayed before the Etch primer and powder coat was applied. I think zinc spray is the way to go to give your chassis that extra protection and stop chassis distortion as the heat from a zinc bath alone puts steel under tremendous warping strength!!
I've just received the quote back, and they've recommended aluminium hot spray, then powder coat. ..including blasting, it comes to £600Happy days...

Seriously? Jesus. So belts were just relying on the fibreglass for support? Bet you're glad you took it to bits now...hillclimbmanic said:

Yesterday, I was mostly ordering a set of Gaz Gold Pro coilovers...I've used Gaz before, on other vehicles, so; whilst not my first choice for the Griff, I'm more than happy to fit them...As it's a complete nut, bolt, bush, bearing, engine strip- down, chassis, interior, paint, etc., there has to be certain compromises; the chassis has to be right, first time; the bushes and bearings have to right...If the shocks don't live up, I can change them, at a later date
