RE: TVR Griffs get new bonnet stay
Discussion
Wow, that's a blast from the past ![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
They used to pop up on eBay from time to time but not seen one in years.
Easy enough to make your own, (mine already had one and I did another for a mate);
Replace the entire bar that holds the rollers on each side with a bit of m6 threaded bar. IIRC you have to remove the bar to fit the Steve Heath kit and you'll probably find the original bar shears when you try and unbolt the rollers anyway![rolleyes](/inc/images/rolleyes.gif)
Position an M10 female rose joint near the middle, (put a bit of alloy tube over the exposed sections of the threaded bar to tidy it up).
Get a bit of alloy rod, put an M10 thread on it and screw into the rose joint to make the stay. Cranking it slightly like the Steve Heath one means it'll pick up the original plastic clip to hold it securely when not in use.
Bit of heat shrink sleeve half way down the stay to make the hand grip
I made a little knurled alloy 'knob' for the end of the stay, alternatively another bit of heat shrink finishes it nicely but that wouldn't justify this thing taking up half my bench![hehe](/inc/images/hehe.gif)
