Going to see my 1st Griff next week. Advice ?

I am going to see my first Griff for potential purchase next week. It is a 94 or 95 500 HC and described as in very good condition. Would appreciate advice on what to look out for. Thanks.

Buy the bible from the club first, read up, look at a few first, and the right Griff for you will chose you.

Dusty's tome also lists a few things to look for.

Apart from the usual mechanical things, pay attention to the Chassis. At 10 years old, depending upon how well your car came out of the lottery of powder coating, and how well it has been looked after since, Chassis are sometimes nearing end of life. Note that there are plenty of 20 year old TVR around on their original Chassis, but there are also increasing numbers of early Griffs and Chims on replacement chassis. Note also that having used TVRs year round for 10 years, I'd say the correlation between chassis condition and "dry use only" or year round use, is not as close as you may imagine. It's quite simply a matter of how well the chassis has been cared for, and to some extent luck in the quality of your chassis.

(The front upper wishbones are also likely to be sha**ed at the end next to the exhasust unless they have already been replaced, but these are not expensive to replace)

my advice is, take your time like Dustyc (he's a Hants Boy too, and we don't make quick decisions down there you know..ooh aarr...ooh aarr) if the car looks & feels right then it's right...just make sure it's been worshipped, the service book & bills tell you that.
If you have a local independent then take him with you, an hour or 3's labour could save you £ k's if you get it wrong.

But...i'm sure dusty is related to the trees in the twin towers
