Hello,

Griffith 500 LHD 1999. When I drive under the rain, water seaps in the driver and passenger carpet.

After searching trough this forum I found : https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=63...

I was wondering how to reseal the brake fluid reservoir since it seems to be the culprit.

Thank you in advance,

It’s an easy fix. Cut out the old silicone, mask up around the body and then pump it full of new silicone sealant.
Take your time, when you’re smoothing out the new silicone have a few bits of rag/kitchen roll and lick your finger before smoothing it.
I must have resealed 200+ of these!

Slightly more "professional" than licking your finger, keep dipping in soapy water, the silicone then won't stick to your finger wink

Hey, thank you so much for your response. Do you think it will solve the water problem or could it be something else in your opinion?

Cheers,

Could be the cover over the clutch master cylinder?

Could be the big grommets where the throttle cable and vacuum pipes come through?

Could be............................. wink

Hello.

Just a thought but check the door seals on both sides.
If they haven’t got the “flattened” sections above the door steps, water runs down the seals, over them and into the car.
Worth a look although the under bonnet apertures are well known for leaking.

Regards Chris.
