Friday 13th has struck with vengeance. Had a call from the garage today, sorry but we got a problem... It appears, following the rear end shunt, that they can't get the brake lights to work, they have power between the pedal and the lights but not lights ? further more, when the ignition is turned off and the key taken out... the ignition lights stay on, a number of other faults were described but I didnt take them all in at the time I am afraid !! they are at a loss as too why its happening, they suspect a fault with the alarm, and are getting an expert in next week to check it out.

The battery was dead when they tried it and would hold no charge , so I would guess has been drained flat in the 8 weeks its been with them. Needless to say none of these faults were apparent before the accident... any ideas ? not that I can try out much as i'am 80 miles from the car, but you never know.

Sorry to hear that Tim. Best they get it right though for you. 8 weeks is pretty good I was promised the same once. It came back in 16 weeks see my Car blog Here is quite a way down the page

Sounds like a bad earth at the rear lights, this would cause all sorts of strange effects.Obviously I have no idea who is doing the repair, but if they are not used to fibre glass cars they may have overlooked this simple point

Sorry to hijack the thread, BB where did you source your mohair for the hood from (just reading your blog) , I just want a plain sheet of the stuff rather than an expensive premade template. How much did that cost you? cheers
