Has anyone else got the large discs (300mm) and 4 pot Wilwoods (supplied by Tower View) with standard 15" Estorils? My problem is the lack of space between the caliper and wheel rim. When fitting, I had to grind a good chunk off the lower end of the caliper (in discussion with Tower View, who are brilliant) to get them to fit. There is still, however, an occasional grind under hard braking. Talking to Tower View, I am trying some spacers to move the wheel outboard a bit. But was wondering if anyone else had tried this set up and whether they hit the same problem and/or how it got sorted? Both me and Tower View are intersted to find out. Tower View reckon Wilwood might have changed its casting. Cheers.

This is a common problem even with 16s on the front - I had to use spacers too - although strangely enough the standard Chimaera OZ Imola five spoke wheels fit fine without any modification to the Wilwoods or spacers.

I have 300mm Willwoods - and they do only just fit. I did groind a teeny-weeny bit off the bottom site corners & had to relocate the balancing weights outwards by 10mm. Fit fine after that. I did get some grinding once, and that was the mounting bolts coming undone, the washers were not giving th enyloc's enough purchase on the bolt and were working loose, removing them sorted this. (I have some 5mm longer bolts to try out.)

I got the kit from rally design.

Thanks guys. Sounds like there is a tight squeeze problem, but can be got round. Will let you know how the spacers work out, but won't be for a couple of weeks, as I am fitting polybushes.

I had 300mm 4-pots in the 15" rims but it was extremely tight and needed all the tolerances spot on to clear. To be honest the clearances are too tight to be practical; the brakes were also too big to get the correct balance with the standard rears.

Blimey, that's a lot of disc to get under a 15" wheel.

My Corrado has a 288mm front brake upgrade which is the biggest disc you can get under the standard VR6 15" wheels, so how you get a 304mm disc under a 15" wheel I don't know.

Still, sounds like a great conversion if it fits. I want to uprate the fronts on my Chimaera 500 (currently a rather weedy 260mm) so it's good to know you can get something decent under there without having to change the wheels.

I wish... All my brake balance seems to be towards the rear at the moment on a standard set up. BIG 4 pots all round for me with new wheels I think. I've got to do something, the feedback on the standard ones is woeful frown

Mine was the same on standard brakes, but be wary of overcorrecting and ending up with a car that locks the fronts too easily in the wet. For me 285mm rotors with the same piston area as the original calipers gave me a balance that was just slightly biassed to the front (understeer) which was nice and safe and predictable.

I decided to sell them when I got fed up of being hammered by the insurance companies for fitting better brakesrolleyes
Sees harsh. When I fitted mine I called Manning, and was told there would be no difference
