I mean the body of the car from the inside to the locking mechanism. Is it just a hole covered with the carpet?
Spike, I think I'm being thick here as well. Do you mean access to the striker plate from the body of the car or access to the door lock mechanism through the door?Anyway no matter, I am also rebuilding one of my Griff 500s and the other I am driving. I haven't attacked the door mechanism yet so if you let me know exactly what you want I can photo it, or alternatively if you live anywhere near the Berkshire area you can look yourself.
Unfortunately I am not back in the UK until the 6th February so it will have to be after that. Hope this will help. Pete
Pete, Unfortunately I'm not in your area,
The 2 arrows show what i mean.
The lock mech is not in the door but in the car body. It's just a metal loop on the door itself.
The other arrow is the top of the door trim an I think there should be a small metal plate for the trim to fold over.
I'm after this info because it should be going to the trimmers in the next few weeks

Spike, if you can wait until after the 6th then I can do some investigation for you, perhaps you can tell me what you want over the phone. If anyone else can help beforehand then fine. PeteThe 2 arrows show what i mean.

PS. I was going to go the same way with the Chimp vents on the bonnet, seems like a no-brainer.
Here you go Spike, I think this is what you're looking for.
The door shut on mine is just painted. The entire mechanism is behind, only the three screw heads on the outside.
The small piece of metal at the end of the door seal is particularly crappy and looks like this
Hope this helps
Dave
