Hello to all,
Anyone knows the meaning of the 3 last digits ( VAC ) of a 4.3 Griffith engine ?
Engine number 47A43P***VAC
The engine is on a 1992/1993 LEFT HAND DRIVE Pre cat 4.3 Griffith.
Thank you for all the help.

I would assume that the last 3 digits would be linked to the number that they were built under, say 47A3P001VAC = engine number 1 of possible 999 Anyone knows the meaning of the 3 last digits ( VAC ) of a 4.3 Griffith engine ?

My car is a 1992 RHD Pre cat 4.3 Griffith and it has an engine number exactly like yours but without any letters where yours has "VAC". The number is just 47A43P***. I know that doesn't help at all but that's the best I can offer.Engine number 47A43P***VAC
Sorry,
Simon
Any chance it is because your car was LHD and for export it was labelled VAC to show it had UK type approval? Today it's called the VCA/Vehicle Certification Agency but it might have been the VAC in the Nineties?
Just a theory...

Genuine Precat Big Valve engines have suffix BV and Precat 400s with 250 BHP have suffix GS
and my own Precat 4.3 has the suffix G and I would like to know what the G stands for.
I’ve never come across suffix VAC before in the UK and although its good to know I wouldn’t let the suffix put you off buying the car.
