Pre-Cat Heater panel
Discussion
On the pre-cat Griffith the ones that have the black plastic panel, where the blower switch fits is the whole very large i.e to fit over the blower switch Knob.I know that the Knob is removable but does the blower switch stay in situ and the panel fits over it. Just trying to get some info on this panel with a view to make a new one.
Any help appreciated Barreti are you there.

I'd have to say from memory, because I don't have photos of it or my car here either, but I think its a hole about 10mm so the heater fan switch shaft can come through. I think its one of the sort that has a flat on it and the switch knob has a sort of D shaped hole in the back of it.
Sorry, Green Meanie, thats the best I can do.
BTW, the cheque is in the post, expect it Thursday

Ok thanks Guys
Going for black with the symbols clear as per Warning Light Panel.
Symbols
HOT
COLD
SCREEN
CAR
Words as above maybe words for HOT and COLD (cold HA HA!!)
and symbols for screen and footwell
ANY IDEAS!!!
I like the little triangles pointing up and down. H & C would do for temperature or maybe + & -? Nope - I prefer H & C - more English-centric - confuse johnny foreigner.Going for black with the symbols clear as per Warning Light Panel.

Just to throw something else into the mix to make life harder for you Green Meanie.
I've always thought the positioning of the switches to be a little odd. Both window switches being on the drivers side means your passenger is getting their hands in the way of the gear lever just to adjust their window.
Switches are located in the plate as follows
I think it would make more sense if it was
Hopefully all that works when I post this !
What do you think chaps?
Oh BTW, I have a small alarm box in MIDDLE that has the LED to indicate the alarm is active, and is the place where you touch with the electronic fob to manually arms/disarm the alarm. Does anyone else have this? I suppose it would make more sense to leave this and let us drill the hole ourselves because not everyone will have it.
Ignore me, I'm thinking out loud and its all rubbish as usual

Centralise the fan knob? Why should the passenger have all the fun?
Now Now Boys can we come to some aggreement ( HA HA HA!)I believe that the Heater switches are mounted horizontally and the window switches are mounted vertically are you thinking of changing this arrangement? We really need to standardise these or everyone will be bespoke which will be MORE COSTLY and a Headache for yours truly.ARE you better sticking to the old TVR Layout?

Ian, 'tis a good idea to be sure !
However, it would also mean re-working the centre console, as I am sure they are only cut out for the current switch config.
Sorry to put a downer on.....
GM, I can mail you my old one,but I was keeping it for reference.(plus its broke in two!)
Actually, how about I draw around it and post that to you?

Hi Antony,

Sorry Antony, am I being thick or do you have a new panel fitted and an old broken one then? Which you want to hang on to?

I have a good one fitted, and a broken original one in the garage. Wanted to keep both (obviously the one in the car) and the broken one for reference.Confusedus
Hi Barreti,
When I receive the drawing off Antony J I will make a start on a panel with the original layout, does the temp control switch have coloured LEDS(red and blue?) OR LETTERS H and C? and I presumme the screen /Feet switch just has UP and Down arrows. Also is there an illuminated symbol under the window switches? Need as much info as I can get please.
