Hi all, I have need of some help with my Pre cat, checked out the stories relating to the problem but still not got to the heart of it.
The starter motor stated to click once, switch off then turn key again and hey presto it works and runs .This happened 3 times, finally took starter off to get checked, only 14mths old, took original one with me as well to an electrician. Both check out ok. Put the newest one back on it clicked once switched off then turned again and it worked, switched it off again then nothing , no ignition or oil lights come on, but the lights , horn and the clock work. Ran a separate earth from neg side of battery to engine, nothing. Tried a light in a screwdriver to earth at the solenoid, lights up, tried it at the alternator lights up so there is power there. tried it at the back of the ignition switch on all 3 wires and no power .Now stuck

Getting a new ignition relay tomorrow from TVR, also going to run a wire from the positive side of battery to the white and red wire back of the ignition switch to see if that turns engine over. Will also check all fuses.

Not battery terminals, got some old brass ones cleaned up , did check them out when the problem started to happen though. Hope to get down to the Growl next month for the day so testing it out again over the weekend. Mind you I have noticed the starter spinning a bit faster now.

Hi Barreti, there is another earth from behind the alternator body going to the front of the car that someone has put on, more to the point had a friend down today as the battery just turned the car over to start. The accumate showed green light / full charge. He brought an Aldi charger which shows what state the battery is in as its being charged, It stated 20% charge !! Out of the 5 digits only one was light up. So he s me thinking all the time it was something else.
