Yes, this old chestnut - but this time stuck on thus keeping the fans always on.

Anyone know what part I need to get? Does it have to be sourced from a dealer or can I just get XYZ from Halfords? I realise it has to have the correct switching characteristics (i.e. on 92/off 88 or lower).

Also is replacing it simply unscrew old, new one in and ensure not too much coolant pees out?

Thanks

Dave

broadcom said:With regards to this kit from Leven, can I pester you for more details? Like the thermostat spec? And the otter switch cut out temp – I assume 74 is the cut in. (do the fans ever cut out with such a low rating?)

Have you fitted the kit yet and how does it perform?

Sorry, all these questions and a request for an impromptu kit review!
TIA!

I just spoke to Leven and the otter switch they supply comes on at 92 and off at 88 - which I thought was the standard part. They were happy to split the pack and just sell the otter but I got the full cooling kit (plus some aluminium toys ). Fitting the new thermostat seems a bit over complicated as they suggest slackening off the belt and taking out the alternator.

Ring them on 01268 281611 - they were very helpful.
