All,

Has anyone come to a definitive answer on whether the spoiler is definitely needed for high speed stability, aerodynamics or cooling ?

After I collected the Griffith from WLA's last night after the gearbox scenario I also collected a lickle flunny bunny .... unfortunately at the speed I was travelling the mating of the bunny and the spoiler meant that both got f**ked !

Cheers

Wholly agree. I was obviously forced to take the Griffith to a suitable speed and chek its stability and it seemed fine. How much air it oushes in for cooling is also rather debatable ...

I now have some conclusions concerning the missing tin spoiler at the front of the Griffith ... These are my opinions, not fact, only findings and what I am going to do about it ...

1 - The Griffith definitely runs hotter without the spolier. My conclusion is that the spolier creates a low pressure zone under the car which enables greater air flow through the engine bay/radiator.

My car is definitely running hotter on the motorway in comparable conditions to previously. I have checked all other attirbutable causes and they have not changed.

2 - Handling wise....if there is a difference it is only very slight. It only appears at speeds in excess of legallity. I am not convinced that it has no effect, I am just not convinced of how much effect it does have.

Conclusion ...

I will getting another spolier made and will be refitting it to the Griffith.

Cheers
