Hi everyone, ive now had my griff for almost a whole year....and survived Scotlands flooded roads last summer....

My problem is that i dont really find it handy to take the roof on and off....and unload and then stow the enormous thing in the boot....and oop north here you dont really want to leave home without it.....

My question is does anyone have any information on chopping the roof in half for easier stowage that they would be willing to share. ie which seal to use, and any extra locating pins etc ? Im quite handy and happy to tackle the job myself before the summer begins.

There dosent really appear to be anything happening on the comercial split roof scene still......or does anyone know off any actually available ?

Does anyone have any opinions regarding whether this mod would reduce the value of the car ?

cheers

Hi Barreti,

Thanks for the photos, and sorry im so slow replying, hopefully i will get home in a few weeks time....And i am definately going to cut it and hope for the best....Being a true Jock though....i think i will try to cut the fabric, peel it back for the cut...and then glue it back down under my rubber seal..........

Watch this space.....

Cheers guys

Thanks for sending me your pics Ian. I have recieved and downloaded them ok.

Im not going to bother with the catches either, but i do think i will put a couple of small dowel pins in just to positively locate the halves and maybe stop them fretting over time.

It looks like a relatively straight forward job and I will let you all know how i get on.....or i will be posting a wanted ad for a new roof !!!!!!!!!!!!!
