I picked up my new (to me) 07 Vogue SE. biggrin

Was well worth the wait. I remember driving the TDV8 when they were first released and wanted to buy one there and then. But i put my sensible cap on and decided that £72k for the car i wanted was just being silly, so i got myself TD6 which was great, no complaints at all. Engine was a bit flat, but as i said before you don't get a Range Rover to race so what it has is more than enough.

So now values have come right down on the TDV8 i decided to have a look around, i knew exactly what i wanted, and those that know me from the Porscshe forum will know i wont accept anything that is not exactly what i want or not in 1st class condition. My local dealer in Cardiff had a very nice 08 Vogue SE so after they appraised my car for the PX the salesman said he would come back to me with some figures on cost to change. The guy never called me back, so i wasn't going to chase him so i could spend £50k with him.

I had a look on the internet and Hunters in Derby had one up there on an 07 plate. Exactly the spec i was looking for and the cheapest main dealer Vogue SE in the country, so a quick call to them and the wheels were set in motion. So now i have my black with Jet/Jet Vogue SE TDV8 My TD6 was good but the TDV8's are just amazing, i am so glad i waited a year or so as the depreciation on a new one would make me cry like a baby. Still i have had a (bargain) and i am glad someone else took the big sting for me. A couple of pics for whoring purposes below.

It has the S/C grill and side vents the chrome mirror covers, side steps and all the usual toys that the 07 Vogue SE's came with. Interesting to hear that for 08 onwards rear entertainment is now a cost option at £2400 along with 4 zone climate. They were both standard trim on the MY07 Vogue SE

hope you dont mind me asking i have posted on this site asking what i should expext to pay for a rr tdv8 with no more than 45,000 miles another ph member put me on to you if possible could you get back to me with what you paid either through this forum or private male me cheers

It doesn't bother me about prices, some think it is a little vulgar but we are all different i guess.

I paid 41K for it, included in that i had 3 years free tax a full to the brim tank of fuel, an overnight stay with food in a hotel, but more importantly i received absolute 1st class service and would whole heartedly reccomend Hunters of Derby. Simon the sales manager makes sure his customers are happy and all his staff are very professional.

This may look like i got some interest in the place but i honestly don't. I went up on a Wednesday which was the week that the original salesman i was dealing with was on holiday, never the less he came in to greet me as did Tom who i was also dealing with and it was his day off. I noticed there were some scuffs on the alloys so it had to go off to be refurbed, they pulled out all the stops and got their man in right away, he tried to get it done ASAP but it never worked out like that. So without question Hunters put me into a hotel for the night while the wheels were sorted out. The reason i went to a hotel was because i had gone up to Derby from Cardiff to collect it. The next day Simon Attwell who was on his weeks holiday was in the showroom to complete the deal and hand over the vehicle. Maybe the great service is down to the fact that everyone is chasing buyers right now, but i hope it was down to just how they run the place, either way i reccomend them highly.

Looks a great car. I went in my local LR dealer at the weekend and had 2 major shocks - the first and main one was that a salesman actually came and spoke to me! I mentioned I had a possible interest in a TDV8 RR and, with no beating about the bush, he mentioned that they had just sold 3 x 58 plate demos for a whisker under £50k - I commented that this seemed a fair price (if still too rich for my stomach) and he then said we could do you a brand new one for about that price.... He was very open about their "enthusiasm" to sell cars at almost any price and showed me the deals he had on the go - £5k subsidised by LR off a RR TDV8 on top of any deal the dealer might chose to do - so £50k would be a reasonable target price, not helping residuals of course....
How times have changed.

WBD thats similar to one I have just bought today, mine was not the Se, DOnt know how much difference that makes, maybe some of my extra makes up for the non SE, Does your have Ipod connection, there is a little AUX in the back which I was told the IPOD could connect to, dont know if thats true or not.

I took out the TD6 and the TD8, I had in my mind already what the outcome was and was kinda hoping I wouldnt like the 6 as the inside of the 8 is nicer.

Does your glove box top and bottom pop out and open itself when you hit the up and down arrow ? the top drawn on mind doesnt when you hit the top button !

I just had a chuckle at your last question because i was wondering the same thing when i got mine. No my top compartment doesn't, i checked others too and they don't "pop up" either. The bottom does but not the top.

The spec difference between the vogue and the SE is quite huge, but it is just gadgets and toys nothing that improves the car. Yes there is an iPod connection in the rear, very bottom of the centre consol in the back, which seems a strange place to put it IMO but there we go. The SE also has 2 seperate AV connections for things like Xbox and playstation too, which is a great feature

Standard SE spec are things like chilled front seats, easy to spot, does your seats have perforations? If so yes if not no. Rear entertainment was standard on the SE until MY08 where they then decided it should be a £2400 optional extra. 4 way climate control is standard on the SE, tho i see a few non SE's have this optional extra fitted. Adaptive headlights are SE standard, I am trying to think what other things are standard on the SE, there are load of others but my mind has gone blank, i will update as i think of more.

Now lets see some pics of your beast, you will love it, i drove mine tonight and it is an amazing car, best i have ever owned, and i have owned everything from Rolls Royce to Lada in my time.

Updates below:

Double glazing, tho that may be a TDV8 thing and not just an SE thing, easy to spot open the window and see if there are 2 peices of glass, it is very noticeable so you will see right away.

Just wondering how you are getting on WBD?

How is the car going and what sort of mileage are you getting out of it.

Must be time for me to get one of these so interested in the ownership experience.

The car is awesome, if you are thinking of it, just do it you wont regret it.

I took it to the French alps over the new year for the skiing trip. Calais to Flaine at 70mph and the same on the return leg, gave me 28mpg. I was very impressed with that i was expecting mid 20's at best. Remember i was 5 up and fully luggaged up.

The only downside is the car is showing as needing another service, it has had 2 already since November, i was told that the tec probably forgot to reset the service indicator. But this is the 2nd time now so maybe there is a problem with the car or the car wasn't serviced when i was told it was, either way it is going in to be looked at in the next few days to find out if the service has been carried out or if there is a problem with the service indicator. Apart from that i love the car, just a shame i hardly use it.

How many miles have you covered?
