I really do like those, and that looks like a beautiful example. I love my old Defender dearly, but a D4 does seem to tick the boxes for every car you'd ever need...
They’re just brilliant. Coming up on a year with mine now and despite its foilbles I can’t ever imagine being without it! Just does everything. Bit mucky after some impromptu off roading to avoid some accident traffic and take a road nobody else could
Acting as ‘track support’ for half a dozen mates at snetterton Last month
And last couple of weeks I’ve been building a play house for my daughter, realised I needed some more 3.9m lengths, to the rescue it comes again

I stayed near Silverstone the other night whilst attending a track day.
In the car park was another what appeared to be another SVA with a trailer but on closer inspection it was a V8 Autobiography with an SVA badge on it.
My childish friend decided to place some tape on my trailer, I wonder what the guy in the Autobiography thought when he left in the morning and saw it

I still miss my Defender. Luckily still owned by a friend and I get to drive it round his muddy fields most winters, which suits it far more than London did.
My wife hated this car.

And doing the daily commute to some bonkers off-piste skiing, in snow spec (steelies and big snow tyres) when I spent my first winter in the Alps.
Damn it, I may cry. Life was a lot simpler, once.

I would love one of those to go with the V8, however I think there’s quite a few people watching the market as well.
I can put you in touch with a really good guy in SA if you’re not frightened of importing one? He’s a mate of Pat’s and I’ve imported my 110 with him (and another mate a 90)If you’re looking for a 50th rather than a regular 2.8i then they are bloody rare though, only 26 in total I think!
However, we've just got planning so the funds are going into the house. Altogether a different stress!!

That's a very kind offer - thanks. I would've been happy with a regular 2.8i.

No probs, just drop me a DM if you'd like his number for future reference, I think he's gathered a bit of a stockpile of them to gradually sell off. However, we've just got planning so the funds are going into the house. Altogether a different stress!!
Generally the ones he buys are slightly tatty and a bit iffy in the wiring department but virtually rust free. Great project cars.

Thank you. It is an awesome car and I can't ever imagine replacing it. It does everything so well: the daily grind, hauling stuff, off-road or a road trip to Greece. I couldn't be without it.Harry Flashman said:

Always thought that’s a lovely looking truck. Nicely spec’d without being overstated or pretentious. My wife hated this car.
