I assume the insurance has increased so much as it’s the most common car to Nick.

Surely fitting anti theft devices would reduce the premiums and depending where the vehicle is parked overnight

Prices are up across the board, costs are the driver, claims wise and operational.

I have had several JLR vehicles including original Defenders (three and still own a 64 plate from new), RRS and FFRR and that has not been my experience with any of them – having sometimes kept them for 5 years or more I have never had a bill for more than £500 and had only minor problems when within warranty.

Having said that the main dealers are pretty poor at sorting any faults whether within warranty or out.
Thats nice, but look at how many companies out there who specialise in engine replacement for the 3.0 V6 diesel. Thats certainly not £500.

The compressor replacement is £750 all in
Plastic inlet manifolds are £1500 for the pair
Cross over pipe is £1k
Injectors
Glowplugs
Gearbox replacement (Granted the 8Sp from 2012 is probably the best gearbox LRs have ever had)

Its a long list of parts. Two tyres is £450 for 20in Pirelli Scorpions.
