Diary of a new Disco sport owner.
Discussion
After some drugged up, un-insured low life decided it was a good idea to drive into my 2010 Range Rover sport HSE at huge speed while it was parked on my parents off road driveway, resulting in a total loss, this afternoon we collected a new 2017MY Discovery sport SE Tech with full leather optioned in Corris grey.
1st impressions are very good, more modern looking than the old sport we had, interior is functional and a very nice place to sit, no it's not as sumptuous as the new Disco 5 (which is lovely inside but £20k more to buy) but it's certainly not cheap feeling.
Drives well, plenty of poke for what it's designed for and plenty of room as well.
I'll get some pics up later and more ownership feedback.
Oh and if you are in Kent then the service received from the sales exec Jon Hall at Guy Salmon Maidstone really was amazing and I would recommend going to see him if your thinking of getting a new Land Rover of any description.
The level of service and attention to detail was as if I'd just dropped £100k on a RR Vouge not the cheapest car in the current range.

48 hours in and 1st impressions continue to impress. Very nice place to be on a motorway cruise down to rugby today, plenty of room in the back for rugby player son and all his kit and returned over 40mpg.
While waiting for the insurance payout we had a Volvo XC90 D5 for about a month and the Disco sport really does seem a much better car, nicer to drive, just as roomy inside yet doesn't feel like driving a barge, which the Volvo did and better feel good factor for certain, I just never felt anything about the Volvo, it was pretty good but just dull and dare I say boring?

Thanks for the feedback guys, the XC90 we had was a 66 plate so the latest one, I just didn't gel with it at all and it left me numb when driving it. For certain it is a very capable 7 seat family wagon but nothing about it at all that got me excited or even remotely feel good factor about it. Agreed on the extra room in the back with seven seats in use but to fair it's priced against the disco 5 and not the Disco sport. That being said i'd still take the Disco sport over the Volvo any day. But if we were all the same the world would be a very boring place.
To the other poster, I'm not sure how you specced up an SE Tech to over £40k though, we just had metallic paint and full grained leather seats with an auto box and total price with discount was £34235?

Looks nice, agree on the fuel consumption, we are averaging 30mpg and with the tiny tank seem to be forever chucking £50 in it.
Ouch What sort of journeys do you take?
Daily school runs are 5-7 miles each way through country lanes with a bit of traffic.
Not getting anything like the 44 mpg claimed by Land Rover
