Discovery Sport heater fan

Anybody suffered with the heater fan "stalling" as they describe it?
DS Forum seems to uncover a few issues with heater not working and requiring the dash out and new fan being fitted which doesn't necessarily fix the problem.
Twice after car has been sat for a week I was unable to get fans blowing.
First time it (they) just started after going over a speed hump after about 40 mins with no heat.
Second time - no fans for a hour and a half journey. Parked up came back to car after about 2 hours and fans started after moving off.

Umm I think it is not as easy on a MY17 model.
Both times happened after car not used for about a week.
The thought of a dealer taking the dash out doesn't fill me with confidence especially from previous experience of them!
