Yes. If it's the app then that's what counts. The i-app doesn't always display your balance correctly, don't worry about that.

I have a lovely bookie offer. £150, take your time over it, decent odds.
Standardd SNR with no WR. St*n J*mes, it's on their homepage.
It's in stages:
£10 for free £10
2 x £20 for free £20
3 x £30 for free £30
4 x £40 for free £40
5 x £50 for free £50.

Now, the beauty about this one is that the free bets are splittable. Eg, you can split the £30 into as many bets as you like. With high odds requirements on SNRs that will help if your BF balance is getting a hammering biggrin

Which app Shuvi? Works on both droid and i for moi.

(Don't go through Top Markets though wink - go through popular sports)

Edit: don't forget this excellent one for the lower value free bet (on pc not mobile) - if it's still the same odds.

Bah - struggling to find anything on sky tonight.
Quick look, just on my way out the office!

Marseille 2 - 0 Olympiakos 7.5:8.4 = £7.41. Not brilliant, but acceptable for Sky who haven't the best odds in the business smile

Manually.

Today's matches, scroll down looking for win-draw-win matches, if none go to busiest games (on BF, busiest games are showing closest back:lay odds wink), open up correct score, HT/FT markets, quick scan, next one biggrin

You'll be quick at it before you know. And you'll start to react to how the numbers look subconsciously (like how I discovered busiest BF games above)

1/2 = 0.5 + 1 = 1.5 decimal. So no.

Look at draw odds, might be something there around 3.5?

Could I have done anything different other than put my bets on earlier when the price was stable?
No. It can be risky if left that late. In fact, 'in play' at half time could have been more stable!

Anyway, you did the right thing in putting the back bet on first, you didn't panic and you sorted it out without much damage smile

biggrin Keep the BF window open and watch how the prices move in play smile

With major events, there's usually good odds matches a day, two, or three ahead. Much less sweaty.

ears

What were the odds? I hope they were indeed matching bets, not slightly different markets!

Hi Nick,

Answers, and I've changed the order slightly

1) I sign up to betfair using a cashback site And a Sharing Referrerwink
2) I sign up to a bookmaker offering a decent, simple free bet
3) Add credit to both using debit card
4) Find the right bet and work out the correct lay stake with matcher.xls
5) Place the bet with the bookie and lay with betfair
6) Wait for game to be over
7) Collect winnings leaving a small net loss on your qualifying bet
8) Given free bet by bookmaker
9) Repeat steps 4-7 taking your profit

The bits I am not clear on are:

- What is the "ideal" bet in terms of decimal odds to place and lay
see my amended post no.1 - and also read up on the MSE intro guide linked in that 1st post

- What happens after #6. Do I need to do anything or does the money get taken/credited to my debit card automatically?
if win@bookie, you withdraw to the same card you paid with
if win@BF, winnings added to your balance (which you can also withdraw in the same way)

- Can you withdraw the cash immediately after #9
yes, takes 2-3 days to get back into your account

Most of these have probably been covered but would much appreciate a response as just want to understand this in the simplest terms. Thanks smile

No probs smile

Cheers Nick.

Some thoughts about short odds. Since doing this I've had quite a few qualis win on the bookie side. Especially really short odds. Stands to reason, that's why they are short priced: more likely to win.

So my mind wandered off and I wondered, why the hell bother to lay such dead certs? Anyway, I performed a little experiment to satisfy my wonderings and kill such a crazy unbusinesslike notion stone dead.

Last night I noted the odds of the 10 shortest odds on footy. The surest bets, mostly under 1.9, all at least 1.0 under the next shortest odds in the match. Then the results came in and I worked out my return had I bet on all these low odds. Just as back bets, not matched or anything.

45%.

That's not 45% profit, it's 45% return. I would have got back less than half that staked! So that satisfied my thoughts and we'll carry on as we are thank you.

Dan, I'd wait until Friday. The odds will be closer, not much going on until then tbh

Or. You could try a horse tomorrow. Best time is 2-3hrs before a race (stable odds and less likelihood of a non runner). Avoid the last 30mins before a race. Tab through the races looking for a mid market mare, 5ish, and a close match @ BF.

You won't see any prices @ bookies before about 10.30am.

It'll be over in a wink and you're free to get set up for the weekends footie

Shuvi, let me know if that £50 doesn't appear in your balance. I think it will, but it might be down as a free bet token. If it is, you'd need to treat it like any other bookie free bet - an SR though - and therefore lay it off at Betdaq.

Did they say you had to place a £50 back bet to qualify for this, or would it apply for a £50 lay stake or liability?

For the record, please avoid Bwin. Aint worth the hassle. Despite the T&Cs being clear, the bonus is sticky it seems. Ie you have to bust out. Which will diminish your profits out of the £25 available.

Totesport. 75% might have to do for them. Thankfully most of the bookies with bigger offers also offer bigger odds, which is nice.

I think the prize mountain @ BF is more valuable at the mo though.

Check BD offers relate to stake, rather than commission (their sign up offer is based on commission, booo)

BD will defo be useful at some point though, IF the BF offers dry up, 2.5% commission will help.
