Croyde I'd send them a polite e-mail asking if they will still give you the freebie if you place another bet over 2.0. Wouldn't be surprised if they said yes

Look out for enhanced odds Dan. They'll all be fighting for Gold Cup business.

Especially WH. Mobile to 50 refund if 2nd. Every horse, Every race @ Chelts. So arb/narb the favourites. They had enhanced Long Run and Kauto Star this morning (might still be there), arbs, refund if 2nd, can back both smile If it wins, they pay on Best Odds Gteed too. (eg Big Bucks EP 1.57 SP 1.83)

If a narb, I underlay for nil loss on win, small loss on lose. Can't guarantee a 2nd place, but it's fun for buttons.

Lads best prices 12-1pm, same with Fred if you've opted in for enhancements.
Lads are also doing refund if 2nd, to 25, on the 1330.

Right..i'm in!
I've 2 days off next week to make a start! Going to spend Sunday reading through the threads on here and mse and familiarise myself with the spreadsheets.

A couple of quick questions in advance, even if I can be pointed to somewhere that it's already been explained....

- is there a list of abbreviations and explanation of each. I understand the maths side but want to ensure I'm fully on board when reading people's tips. Arb, Narb, Wr, etc etc??

- anyone got any simple examples if how a stake not returned, free bet, would work, if you have to play through your deposit 3 times over? (or something similar to that)

- any tips on things to be wary of in terms of actually placing the bets. Have both the bet and the lay up on screen at same time? Etc?

Oh, and as this is PH, it's worth mentioning that anything I make from this will be helping pay for the new engine for the Tuscan, so a worthy cause!

Cheers
Dave smile

I'm sure one of the boys will be in to explain soon. I still need getting my head sorted about rollovers etc, as unless you can find matching odds for both back and lay, it seems to me that you are going to lose a fair little bit if you have to play your deposit 3x, 5x, 10x.

Found that rare thing where the lay was actually lower than the back, on Automatcher. For a 200 back with the lay as specified by the spreadsheet, I was showing a 38 profit but once I went on to the bookie site to find the team, it's search would not find it and suggested I get a price by ringing direct.

Any thoughts, it was a Mexican football game quoted by Automatcher as being on Paddy Power.

Ah well it's day 5 and I have taken it slow and I'm 170 odd up biggrin Got a 10 freebet from SkyBet today so I thought that I would treat myself to a flutter at Cheltenham. Grandad's Horse in the 16.40, 10 e/w at 17.0.

THIS IS NOT A TIP BTW!

Good luck.

Welcome Dave smile

a) you'll pick up on the abbreviations. WR = wagering requirement, for instance, and arb = arbitrage, a back price higher than lay price for a small profit on your qualifying bet.

b) all the examples are within the mse intro guides. But, usually there is no WR for an SNR (stake not returned) freebet. WR's are usually found with SR (stake returned) account credits. Where a WR is required, these extra bets you need to do to release your bonus are just like qualifier bets.
Avoid these deals until you've done at least 10 normal matched SNR freebet offers though.

c)
Do Not Bet on Latvian Tiddlywinks. High profile football matches, UK/Euro, then progress to the horses when you've read up on them.
Check and double check everything. Post your calculations here or on mse if unsure. DO NOT RUSH.
Ensure you have EXACTLY the same market at bookies and BF.
Ensure PLENTY of liquidity in your lay price @ betfair.
Ensure you are betting WELL in advance of the start.

Markets side by side on sep windows certainly the safest. But you'll soon be able to quickly calculate, back and lay on a smartphone just before the train goes into a tunnel hehe

Dunno. But to arb mexican football / latvian tiddlywinks with Paddy is asking for a gubbing. That's a bookie you want to hold on to wink

Not a tip either, but for a a cheeky e/w? I backed 20 Synchronicity in the Gold Cup on Boyles enhanced offer a few weeks ago at 21.00
I happily layed it off last night at 16.00
It's now 10.5!

Indeed, or even smashing your monitor to pieces because your PC decides to restart just before the start of the race, and before you have layed your 100 qualifier (that one turned out nicely as it happens - paid for a new monitor anyway) biggrin

Probably the best bit of advice is not to let it take over your life, there's been a tendency for me in the past to spend that extra half hour chasing a better match on a qualifier or freebie for an couple of quid extra - not the best use of your time.

:Hehe: Agree on this one - the amount of time I've spent clicking on refresh on various sites to try and eek out what turns out to be only a few pence more profit is ridiculous.

Oh and Rich - whats wrong with Latvian Tiddlywinks?! rofl With some bookies its the only bloody option.

Well, seeing as I've missed out entirely on this Cheltenham and I had 10 minutes I thought I'd have a punt on the gold cup at least.

I thought Mr McCoy looked a good price at 11.5 so I thought I'd have 20 on him.

Made my day clap

Nice touch Jon smile

Finally, a WH 2nd place refund for me, yay!!

Right, a weekend off for me. Hope y'all made a few quid. Euro2012 next, that'll be big with hopefully not so many surprise results.

The bookies made a killing at Chelts, so they can afford some nice offers smile

There's a 19% ROI arb opportunity on william hill. Back Alonso @ 21.0 to win the F1 championship and lay it @ 17.5 on Betfair. If you have that sort of money to lock up for a few months it's worth doing.

Mmmm, my rough maths has that at a 14% return for your money but would mean say 6000 tied up at the exchange for a 300 back. Have I got that right?

This is only my 1st week but I am presuming that the 6k would have to be there from the off?
